The woman stared, which was strange, since the blindfold should have stopped that. She raised it slowly, and they could see movement from under as the “eyes” started to uncover.

The blindfold came away to reveal two sockets, a pair of bloodied lizards within and fungus grown over. A nest was at the base of each eye.
