Gosh, now what?

He stared at his hands.

“That is a request I cannot comply with.” Rebus considered elaborating with the fact that he couldn’t see if he didn’t read the posts, but didn’t.
The three other reflections were clearly upset. “You idiot! You don’t want that mirror!” “I knew you’d abandon me…” “Rose, pick this mirror right now.”
Rebus watched. “Good actions can come from those with no goodness within them.” Then shivers would have gone up his spine if they could have. “I can feel something. It may not be the same thing, but I feel it.”

I don’t know - if I have done it I’ve forgotten, unless you’re referring to functions in general.
Rebus smiled broadly. “Alright - enjoy your day, enjoy doing some good in the world, and enjoy the time you get before I decide you’re too much of a threat and up my game. You can keep trying for now, though - I could use something to do.”

“Why not?” He demanded.

-

“Shut up,” she snapped, and promptly chose the Cricket mirror.

-

“How could you?” Lady Bug laughed. “You don’t understand her like I do. I created her. She’s nothing, Rebus. A black hole. She’ll suck you up if you let her.”

”Not anymore.” Symbol picked the monocle out of the air, running her finger along the edge. “You created me to change, to discover. That is my purpose. In your absence, I have done so.” She frowned slightly. “Or… I must have, in some way. The drive is fading.”

”Spoutspeaker,” Lady Bug scoffed.

“It’s not like you’d know any better. We may have similar descent, similar mannerisms—“

Lady Bug started forward, making Symbol twitch, but stopped herself. ”You’re an EMPTY SHELL! You don’t have my mannerisms! I left you alone and you turned into a MONSTER.”

”No, actually.” Her jaw clenched, though she maintained some composure. “You left me with a drive to become and a terrible answer. A flawed answer that caused me to develop into a monster.”

Lady Bug opened and closed her mouth. “No,” she said finally. “Whatever happened to you wasn’t my fault.”

Five shifted and hugged him.

"You'll be fine, Eepy. I should be fine. Stay with Bead, and I'll be right back, OK?"

“Okay,” she whispered, and let go of him.

she teleports them back and steps to the side. She harnesses her powers, horns appear jn the place of the halo and she covers off the ground. She holds her hands a few inches apart and a small lava red ball forms. The air swirls hot. Her eyes glow red.

Pyk readies himself, launching himself into the view of the woman, hoping to distract her.

It worked - she turned to him, surprised that he could move. She raised a hand, and a spike of golden Ichor burst from it, hitting and bouncing off of Pyk’s armor.

She narrowed her eyes, and then hissed. “What. IS. That?”

"Uhhhh . . . about Twelve?"

He narrowed his eyes at Twelve, who was checking to make sure all the cupboards were stocked. “Do I need to punch him?”

She hadn't noticed Twelve before.

Dang.

"Uh, not exactly . . . I kinda already did that . . ."

She blushed.

He closed his eyes, trying to stop tears. He wished he could talk to her. Make things better. Give Five comforting words. Make sure Aden was okay. He screwed up. And he couldn’t fix it. Not this time

The woman whirled to face Asher, but it was too late - she didn’t have time to react.

Asher shoots the ball forward, shooting herself back into the wall as wellThe wall cracks under the pressure and she breaks it falling on the other side. During the time the entire building glowed a bright red and was loud windy and blazing hot.
