Holt sighed with relief.

"Thank goodness."


"You're welcome," he replied.

"We aren't gonna hurt you," he promised. He hesitated, then pulled up his sleeve. His shoulder glinted metallically.

The fire could be seen through the forest.

Five looked awful. She had tiny bandages all over her face and arms, and her face was drained of color.
