“I know I can’t say anything to help,” he said quickly. “But I’ll sit with you, if you want.”

She shrugged. “I don’t know what I am yet, Tam. You’re Tam, a character who’s technically a Narrator. Bat is Bat, a character who’s mostly just a character. I’m Symbol— but a symbol of what? That remains to be seen, as I have yet to decide. I’m trying to be careful… I don’t want to repeat the whole Corruption incident again.”

"I'm alright," he said, his body almost fully going again. "It just got heated. I said some stuff I shouldn't have. We need to get back to the cabin," he grumbled, trying to stand and falling, his face turning red with embarrassment. "I might need help getting there though."
