. . . Well . . . we're still here . . . maybe they figured something out?

I guess they must have…

He really didn’t want to let go, though. It felt like something awful would happen.

She shrugged.

No idea. I'm sure we could ask him . . . he seemed to have a pretty good idea of what he was going to do.

He nodded.

She cringed.

Oo . . . remember those people Rebus was going to terrorize?

He pulled back, expression darkening dangerously.

“Tam.”

“Let’s go to Switzerland!”

“Do—do you need help?”

A tiny acorn fell and bonked her on the head.

No, it's okay! Really! He already did what he needed to do, and everyone's fine . . . and I got your family out of there in the first place, and it's for the good of the Thread, so . . .

She shrugged.

It was all going to be fine, anyway, and I didn't want to stress you out . . .

Uh . . . I made another Narrator, but he's more like a program than a character so it's fine . . . I don't him not to kill anyone, and it sounds like he was successful, so . . . Rebus took him and basically just scared everyone out of the cavern . . .

He nodded and started cleaning and bandaging one of his shoulders as best he could, which . . . wasn't working super well at an angle.

After a second, Corysande took the bandages from him. “Let me help you before you hurt yourself.”
