"Uhh... somebody who was used to doing things. Maybe a hiker, or something."

Collecting information, explained the ennuller as they stepped into the Void. Organizing gathered information. Synthesizing the gathered information into a useful model of reality. And so forth.

“Very well. I believe that to be within my capacity.”

Rebus’s glasses frames bisected, yielding four spidery legs which it used to climb off his face. It proceeded to begin cutting the web entangling him.

Cool

Just lemme know when you want Utility to come in, if there's a certain time

@TwinStorm what's Mist finding?

ALSO YOU CHANGED YOUR NAME BACK WHEEEEE :D:D

Well, if you recall the spider thing can sense technology. I'm unsure how smart it is - Rebus might simply get poisoned and tied up again and again. Honestly, it's up to you, though I kinda want to wait for Haly to respond.

Not technology, per se, just power surges.

So the little glasses probably wouldn't do anything.

I figured you wanted to wait for her, but I also figured I should ask :D

"Hm? Oh, those mean I'm dizzy..." He shook his head and some of the birds popped.

Nox poofed into existence.

"Well, that was weird," He said and picked himself up off the ground.

"Hell. Otherwise known as the Thread." came a voice from behind.

Amethyst looked in front. This might be a problem, he said, falling on another stone.

HAH

Khione shivered, running behind Mist. “It’s cold!” She shouted

She tilted her head, tapping the book idly. "It's okay. You can tell me."

NameIess nodded slightly. "Perhaps I do. But then again, you've hardly met me. Anyways, good luck getting betrayed by Rebus eventually."

NameIess sighed heavily. "Don't worry, I don't hold it against you. It's the fault of your Author more than anything. Not making Narrators right. Honestly! You'd think they had no idea of the long traditions of Narrators in this thread."

Nameless angrily interjected that the primary purpose of a Narrator was, in fact, telling a story.

"I'll take my chances, thanks," she said dryly, then poofed into a cloud of crystalline flakes.

She reappeared. "Do you really expect them to?" She scoffed. "You can either have a Thread that bends to the needs of the new generation, or you can have a dead Thread passed up by TLPW, whatever that is."

"No, the primary purpose of a Narrator is to entertain the Author behind them." She shrugged. "Ask any of the Authors around the Thread today, and refer to my earlier comment."

Yeah, probably - where'd the spider put them?

Rebus began to pace. "We should still do it, of course. Perhaps if Malevolence finally activates the teleporter, we can speak with the rabbits. But for now, my Author has created a magic system concept, which would assist in discovering new creatures."

Rebel pretended to search around in his bag, which created a laser weapon for him. He pointed it at something unimportant, which combusted. "If your technology is useless, it sound like you might be interested in my better technology."

Meat's vision follows trippy dream logic - this is somewhere Rose recognizes, and if she moves around she'll probably be somewhere else she recognizes, but places won't connect the same way.

Kion hustled behind him, ready to yell distraction at any who noticed them.

Rose walked through the cavern, hearing the tak of her footsteps coming back to her from the walls.

The orb was… not happy exactly, but pleased to be able to serve a purpose. “What are my responsibilities?”

The scientist didn't care all that much.

She'd given herself up for dead.

A slight fragment of something noble fluttered in her mind, but she shoved it away before it could be made public.

The cavern, other than that, was dead silent. Even the footsteps were unsettling, though it wasn’t immediately obvious what was off about them.
Rebus, freed from his bonds, hurried over and cut hers by hand, the glasses at worryingly low power. “I did try to tell you I was prepared for this. Let’s recuse these people, and then get out of here!”

Actually, she’d still be paralyzed. That could be a problem.

He shakily shrugged and focused on the branch he was sitting on.

What- what was she going to do to him?

Maybe it wouldn't be too bad . . . maybe- maybe she'd just . . . well, he didn't have any clue.

He really should have thought through that plan better . . .

She didn’t look like she was going to hurt him.
