"BECAUSE OTHERWISE THE WIND WILL KILL US!"

She shriveled at the thought. "THEN YOU SHOULD MOVE FASTER!"

"I'M TRYING! I HAVE TO HELP THIS ONE!"

"JUST CLIMB!"

She began to run back down. "I CAN HELP YOU! IT'LL BE EASIER THAT WAY!"

SHE KICKED HIM IN THE FACE- no lol

She helped him up and ran.

He regarded her fearfully, too scared to move.

"KEEP CLIMBING!" Mist yelled distantly.

He limped forward, reaching the base of the hill.

NameIess nodded slightly. "Perhaps I do. But then again, you've hardly met me. Anyways, good luck getting betrayed by Rebus eventually."

NameIess sighed heavily. "Don't worry, I don't hold it against you. It's the fault of your Author more than anything. Not making Narrators right. Honestly! You'd think they had no idea of the long traditions of Narrators in this thread."

"You cannot fool me with your lies." The king looked directly at Simon, and a force threw him back against the far wall. "I ask again. Whom do you serve? That is all I wish to know. Tell me who sent you and why, and you may just live through this day."

Malevolence noticed Cricket immediately, rising from his throne with a sneer. "Cricket! You've come at last. I knew you couldn't continue to refuse my invitation forever." He gestured to the line of prisoners awaiting execution. "Will you accept my terms? Your life in exchange for an end to the deaths?"

"He might not be dead." Moni noted. "He seemed confident that he could meet up with us again." She hurried on, and their surroundings began to blur. In moments, the camp had vanished. "Do you know where your resistance army is from here? It helps if I know where I'm going."

Nameless angrily interjected that the primary purpose of a Narrator was, in fact, telling a story.

"I... I'd rather die. I am free." Simon whispered.

Lane, however, could not take it and stood up. "Malevolence! He sent us!"

--

"What invitation? Also, what is going on? You don't wanna fight me, Love. Set these people free."

--

Fair. Regardless.

Mist pulled Amethyst out of the way of the other girl, who really should not have been sprinting down the hill.

She slammed her heels into the ground, trying to slow down. "I'm helping," she grumbled, doing her best to help lift him up the hill

Probably shouldn't have said it out loud then, when she's only inches away.

Ironic, Mist thought.

True, but it was funnier that way

"H-how long were you in the box?" she asked mist softly

"Oh. D-do you remember the time? Before the box?"

Slowly, and surely, they ascended the hill, near the crest, when a howling was heard. No. No. They were too close, Amethyst thought desperately. Too close.

Mist was half-tempted to just drop him and run-

But no.

She wouldn't.

. . .

Probably.

She tried to go faster.
