It should be somewhere in his office. Usually I just have Enrik sniff this kind of stuff out, but he's not... well, he's not great at conversation. It gets lonely."

As soon as NameIess' core came into contact with Atreides', there was a flash of light. A moment later, Nameless stood before Rebus, fully corporeal. He was a tall man with brown hair and blue eyes. He took a deep breath. "At last." A grin spread across his face. "I'm back."

Rose swallowed and stood up straighter. “I killed a Narrator. I’m not afraid.”

She is afraid. Very afraid.

Symbol blinked, light flashing across her body. “I fear I missed something. My apologies— I’ve been taking care of something.”

Jacob heaved himself back onto the roof with a grunt of effort. "Lane, Barik, Organ. you alive? Report in" His voice crackled through their earpieces, staticky but understandable. He switched over to the main channel. "Simon, be on the lookout. I got knocked from the sky shortly after passing the city walls." He cursed softly as a squad of guards hurried through the street below in a search pattern. They were scanning the rooftops as they went, and several carried bows. "I've got company. Over and out."

Omen waited in the form of a withered corpse with red glowing eyes. "Cricket. Are you prepared to face my trial once again?" He looked at Rose. "I see you come in different company this time. Is Rose prepared to face my trial?"

Very good. The fuzzy form of Nameless evaported into mist, leaving only the floating core. Put me into contact with his core.

The guard walked to a doorway and paused, turning to look at Rebel over his shoulder. "Wait here. I'll be back with the captain in a moment."

Regulus gulped. Then he took a large bite of his soup, hoping it wouldn't be too angry. It looked likely to kill him even without being angry.

Lane's voice crackled through. "I'm alive. Got any med packs on you?"

Radio silence from Simon. Whatever had knocked out their cloaks had likely cut comms, at least att a distance.

He gulped. "I am. We both will."

14 hours ago, Dragonheir said:

Rebus nodded. "Alright, though you should wait until this blows over."

Heir waved back, now holding a red solo cup and a party unroll whistle thing. "Thank you."

Rebus nodded slightly. "That happens, sometimes. What was your idea? - self-actualization Bat might serve."

"Yes. It's quite useful, though it takes enhanced reflexes to outdraw a teleporter." He needlessly blew on the weapon, then put it away. "Unrelatedly, how much power would Atredies's corpse give Nameless?"

Rebus did so, a Nullite robot arm extracting the core.

Rebel waited, making himself some wares to provide an alibi and induce greed.

He shrugged. "I'm not sure."

Nameless remained gone, although a paper did fall slowly to the ground where he had been standing.

If Rebus bothered to read it, the paper showed a list of ways Nameless could have vanished without Rebus deactivating the teleportation field.

Spoiler

1: Using the Narration Rebus had given him to impersonate Rebus and hack the system.

2: Turning invisible and exiting at his leisure.

3: Using superspeed to exit faster than Rebus could percieve

4: Using Narration skills unknown to Rebus to teleport himself out in a way that bypassed the anti-teleport field

5: Instead of moving himself, simply turning incorporeal and moving the entire substance of the Thread in such a  way that he phased to his intended destination

6: Stepping into the fourth dimension

7: Time travel

8: Some kind of combination of the above.
