"We were trying to get out of Ad'Leid.--The school for heroes. Went to a friend's place for a while, but they've got three kids, and we were in the way. Ana didn't want to leave, and... well, we had a fight. Kaboom. Stranded out in the woods. We were lucky to have found you; the last time we got stranded in the woods, a panther almost killed her and her lousy boyfriend."

It was interesting. Why were you trying to get out of the school? she asked, genuinely curious.

"I... feel that. In a different way, though. Sometimes our best is simply not good enough." he said, hugging her. "Do you want protection? I am an Enuller, after all." Originally it was just Bat, Cricket, Rose, and myself, but then Elliot what's-his-face showed up- she jabbed her thumb at the teenager playing the drums in the background, -you two are here, now, and the other new girl by the front door. Oh, and Val, I suppose. Not really sure where he came from. 39 minutes ago, Kajsa said: "Thanks," Ana said half-heartedly, glancing toward the window before forcing herself to sit down. "How long have you been here?" "I met Cricket and Rose while they were fighting a monster." Val said cheerfully. "I decided to stick around because you guys seem like good adventurers. Also because I haven't ever met a Narrator before." 30 minutes ago, Dragonheir said: “Typically I’d agree, and I do have some precautions in place. But Ennullers can go rogue, or people can be less threatening than anticipated.” Rebus’s core is pulled from his body, touching the sphere, as the other copy of Rebus watches from behind the force field with Balitan. Rebus's core and the sphere met with a flash of light, and in the next instant a man stood inside the forcefield. Well, part of a man. His lower jaw and and half of his face was missing, as was one of his legs and half of his torso. Despite this he stood easily on one leg, and no blood poured out from the exposed internals where his flesh ended. The man's blue eyes locked onto the copy of Rebus standing outside the force field, and a harsh, ragged voice forced its way into his mind. NameIess Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Just now, Through The Living Glass said: Huh. Okay- you've really never met a Narrator before? "Well, not really. It's kind of weird. I have two sets of memories. One of them is normal, being born, going to school, getting a job, burning alive in an orphanage. The other one is... weird. It's all fuzzy, and even what I can remember sort-of clearly feels like a dream. But in those memories, the earliest ones that are clear at least, I met a guy who called himself Nameless. He said he was a Narrator, and I think he might've made me. That me at least, not sure about the other one."

I’ve learned from my rabbit-related mistakes.

Narrators . . . don't make people. Or at least, they usually don't. You were probably created directly by an Author, not one of us.

This time, the figure was complete, although his body was slightly transparent in parts. You are much more careful than she was. the voice was calmer now, but still. In the spirit of fairness, I should give you a warning: give me too much more power and I'll be able to incorporate all of it forcibly. 5 minutes ago, Through The Living Glass said: Burning- actually, nevermind.
