"Uhhh... I've never tried anything other than water." He shrugged. "I prefer not to experiment."

i didn't realize it was tam xD

He narrowed his eyes, as if trying to remember. "Oh, right. Sorry. I'm Peter. That's Ana."
Ana waved distantly from the window.

All good lol

She grinned and nodded. It's alright. You can breathe underwater? That's cool.

She looked at Ana.

Can you do anything?

Yeah, right outside the cabin!

"I'm alright, Five. I promise. It was just a mechanical fluke. It'll happen" he told her, trying his hardest to reassure her

Everet spent less time on his work, and more on explaining things, blushing less as he explained things he actually knew.

“If it looks like a core, it may be a core. If I kill it, that prevents us from learning how it ended up like this.” Rebus places force fields between him and Balitan, and him and the sphere.

Soliel followed his instructions well. Except when she got distracted by the sprinkles or the cars out the window.

“Who’s that?” the manager asked.

She smiled at him and made room for him to stand next to her.

He did so.

Problems. Problems are what I make. "I make stupid portals," Ana told her. "Between worlds."

He smiled and laughed again. "You don't have to be worried about me. That's what they're for." he said, nodding his head to the doctors

"Take care. If Enullers were involved in creating this possible core, I'd hate to meet someone they thought needed to be sealed away like this."

The sphere rolled to the edge of the forcefield and stopped. Rebus's core was pulled towards it as if by magnetism.

"What kinds of water have you breathed in?"

Ah. That's how you got here, then?

"...yeah." She studied Tam's face, then turned back toward the window. Some of the anger left her body--her shoulders slumped, her face softened. "I was just trying to go home."

Just now, NameIess said:

He shrugged. "Like I said, I don't experiment with it much, don't do a lot of swimming. I don't really practice. I've used it, like, twice."

Ah. Didn't really work out, did it?

Well, what's the point of needing to swim if you can breath underwater? Tam chimed in, grinning.

She bristled again. "N-no."

"That's what I'm saying," Peter agreed.

Touchy subject. Noted.

I can get you home, if you'd like, she offered. All you have to do is describe it to me.

She chuckled.

So where are you from?

"I don't know if I trust you. But... thanks. I'll keep that in mind." She finally turned away from the window,  apparently having concluded that there were no threats outside. Not yet, anyway. "I should be able to get there on my own in a couple of days, once I can make a Bridge again. And if Peter would keep his mouth shut."

"Can't help myself, 'Stasia," Peter chimed in, earning a scathing look from Ana.

She shrugged. Fair enough. We have some empty rooms in the back you could use in the meantime.

The sun was starting to go down, finally.

Nickname's cute, by the way, she said privately to Peter, smirking.

"Thanks," Ana said half-heartedly, glancing toward the window before forcing herself to sit down. "How long have you been here?"

Peter flushed, tried to hide it, and then smirked right back.

'Bout two days, give or take. Originally it was just Bat, Cricket, Rose, and myself, but then Elliot what's-his-face showed up- she jabbed her thumb at the teenager playing the drums in the background, -you two are here, now, and the other new girl by the front door. Oh, and Val, I suppose. Not really sure where he came from.

She shrugged and grinned at Peter again. So yeah.

"Two days isn't bad," Peter said. "Two days isn't bad at all."

Everet blushes. “Soliel. She wanted to see what I did for work.”
Rebus continued leaning against a wall, eating a dessert he’d made.

“Typically I’d agree, and I do have some precautions in place. But Ennullers can go rogue, or people can be less threatening than anticipated.” Rebus’s core is pulled from his body, touching the sphere, as the other copy of Rebus watches from behind the force field with Balitan.
