I figured :D

She looked at him questioningly and poked a finger towards the bugs.

“Yes! Don’t get them on you! You know how germy they are?”

She raised an eyebrow and put her hand closer to the log, grinning mischievously.

He grabbed her wrist. “Tam! Don’t die!”

She stopped, and . . . felt kind of guilty, for some reason.

Sorry, she muttered, ashamed.

She pulled her hand away and stood.

Gosh, she wasn't helping how he was feeling, was she? Stupid.

It was burning nicely, and she looked quite pleased with herself.

"Good job! I'll get these cooked." He pulled a pan out of his bag, oil, flour, and some spices, and set to jointing and frying the rabbit.

He blinked, then stood too. She’d flipped so quickly. “Tam, I… I was joking.”

Mostly, he thought, eyeing the bugs.

“I’m sorry.”

. . . Oh.

It- it hadn't sounded like he was joking.

It was fine though. She nodded.

Sorry, she said again.

"Have you ever had fried rabbit before?"

Btw, if you have never had it, it is absolutely amazing. I love rabbits and have kept them as pets, but storms! If humans tasted that good fried I would eat them.

...not weird at all, that.

“No, it’s okay. It’s my fault. These ones… probably won’t kill you.” He eyes the bugs again.

She shook her head hard and nearly fell off of him.

Great, he’d screwed everything up. Desperate, he grabbed her wrist again. “Wait, wait.”

He grabbed a handful of bugs and held it up. “See?”

He wasn’t sure quite what he was showing her.

We can say that she said that after he shoved her and got hit by the dragon

@Through The Living Glass

He offered his arm. “Where do you wanna go?”

Cricket climbed to his feet slowly. If there was one thing he was good at, it was surviving wounds. He was just too stubborn. "C'mon." he said, gesturing at the monster.

"You will love it."

As he finished the rabbits, and pulled the pan off the fire, the sun rose. "Here." He pushed one of the sets of rabbit pieces towards Eepy's side of the pan. "Enjoy."

Bat, it's okay . . .

She brushed the bugs out of his hand and waved a hand towards the path.

“Cricket!” she called, “You dumb, stupid idiot, come here.” She grabbed him and healed him.

She omnommed happily.

“Delicious! Thank you!”

He brushed his hands off vigorously and shuddered. “Okay. Good.”

He followed her.

Why'd you do that?

He shuddered again. “They’re probably not gonna kill me.”

Not what I asked.

He frowned at her.

“Oh! I dunno. It… felt right, I guess.” Well, not right. Sticking his hand into a bunch of deadly bugs wasn’t right. It was just… he shrugged.

Strange, but okay.

She shrugged and looked around a bit more.

Cardewyn waited a few minutes, eating in silence. "Sorry for scaring you earlier, Eepy." He looked away, ashamed. "I... I should have. . . I should have done better. I'm sorry."
