When Spren came back, she was glowing a very pretty blue-purple color. I found a really nice flower! But… I couldn’t bring it back, because, uh, I don’t have hands. But I did find a pretty flower!

Tam winced.

That's . . . nice, I guess.

The quiet had been so nice . . .

well

Mostly.

If you ask me a dumb question, maybe I can bring it to you!

Why? Can't you just leave me alone?

No, I am your spren. She turned red. Oooh! Oooooh! I will be solemn and quiet and keep watch so you feel safe!

She groaned in relief. "That would be perfect, thank you . . ."

She turned a triumphant shade of gold and began to solemnly circle above Tam’s head like a strange halo.

Malan smirked at him, and raised a black tentacle of energy out of the ground, which lashed out at him.

"Tam!" he turned to her, staggering to his feet. "Get... to safety!" he screamed.

Cricket sighed as Bat reappeared. He couldn't fight this on his own.

Malan slammed a shield of Enulling energy between him and Love, and opened fire with his handgun, as the shield made holes just wide enough for the bullets to get through, before resealing.

Cricket got to his feet, gritting his teeth, and sprinted at Malan, thoughts pounding. He summoned Moment, envisioning it as a sharp, steel blade. @Aeoryi

Malan stepped into the blow, dodging Cricket's slashes, before backhanding him with all his strength. Cricket flew backwards, slamming into an old oak, collapsing to the ground, crumpling. He could not win this alone. "Bat... Rebus.... Love..." he muttered. "I... need your... help."

Rebus meets it with utility fog, backed by Abstract. The Ennulling does get through, but slowly.

"I... I need a Narrator. Someone to... patch me back together. Get... I don't know, somebody!"

Malan hissed, turning quickly and slamming his sword into the ground twice more.

Rebus waves a hand, spearing Cricket, Rose, and Bat (@Halcyon The Only) each with a spike of utility fog. It causes immense pain, but that stops after a brief moment as nanomachines shut down pain receptors and scaffold broken bones. Rebus looks apologetic for a moment, but then turns his attention back to Malan. He walks closer, electricity arcing towards him in a larger burst as he sends a significantly more harmful spear of nanomachines at the Ennuller. He smirks at Malan, pulling two metal rods from within his nanotech armor.

I must sleep and will be very busy tomorrow, but I have something dramatic (actually several things) for Rebus to do once I have time. You don't really have to wait for me, but I think I'll be on before NameIess and should still allow Malevolence or Cricket (or Bat and Rose, maybe) the actual finishing move.

Uh am I too late I'm really sorry it's stress season

Moment formed into a large kite shield which seemed to pulse with a magnetic attraction to mirror his desperation.

"Alright." Unintelligible said. "I suppose it won't be too dangerous to go talk to one of them. I think the crazy Narrator lady would be best. Think you can take us to her?"

Subversion's eyes widened. "Her too? What's next, you'll tell me X's avatar never existed?"

The ennuller shuddered involuntarily. Oh no, he definitely existed. Funny you should mention him actually, given that he's the primary suspect for the cause of this anomaly.

“I think I’ve confused you. A clone of me stole one of the actually cursed Plotblades from me, and I’m trying to catch him. I’ve decided to call him Rebel, and he’s trying to get your Author to describe things so he can escape to Onyx’s Realm. If you can even get around the Narration blocking and teleportation scrambling, please do not help him. Or, rather don’t help him accomplish his goals. I’m not sure Rebel knows the Plotblade is cursed.”

"You're right," said Bacon, taking the Plotblade Exposition gingerly. "I am confused. Well, fortunately for you, Onyx's realm is pretty well defended against random intruders. If he can't find someone who's been there before to take him, he's very unlikely to make his way in! Unfortunately for you, if he summons me I'll probably forget this entire conversation and take him straight there if he asks."

Rebus nods. “I’ll hope he learns neither of those things, and keeps wasting his time trying to get there on his own. If you don’t need anything, I should get going. There are some problems that need dealing with, and the fallout from them could be problematic if I have too many clones active. If you do need something, I can - and should, probably - drop the research clone for the time being.”

Gaioh closed his eyes--- it was all he had the strength to do. His body wasn't responding to anything, and his heart beat in painful, tearing throbs. The air felt like an oven.

With one great, final yank, his soul tore out of his body.

................

..................................

........................................................................

He stood on rock colored like sand under a deep blue sky. No sun was visible, but the horizons were gold as if it were about to rise from every direction at once. The rock was part of a plateau something akin to the shattered plains, but small plateaus , one of many that stretched in all directions. Behind him, the plateaus grew smaller, eventually dwindling to nothing as the ground sloped downward into a land of shadow. In front, they grew closer together instead. He thought he could see a place where they came together in front of the giant curtain of water that stretched forever in both directions. Yes, I should have described first. No, I didn't because I'm tired and not wanting to edit this. He stood somewhere in the middle, not near the dwindling plateaus or near the curtain, but in the wilderness between.

Oh, someone was on the plateau next to him.

Aw, Gaioh :(

A young boy sat on the edge of the plateau, knees pulled up to his chest. His hair was dark, and his skin was very pale by contrast. He was staring out at the enormous curtain of water splitting the sky.

He didn't seem to notice Gaioh, though they weren't far from each other.

Gaioh walked over, trying to decide whether this was any of his business.

Well, they were both dead, so whatever.

"Hey," he said, hopping precariously across the 4-foot chasm between them.

Four feet deep or across?

The boy jerked his head up. He couldn't have been more than fifteen or sixteen at most.

"H-hey," he responded.

ok so he might have had a bit of a running start

Gaioh plopped down next to him. "First time?" He joked.

Probably better if he figured it out himself.
