Growling, she sat up a little straighter and Narrated three thick, black metal spikes into shooting up from the ground around Love, meaning either to trap him or spear him. Which was a good thing. He'd... done something useful. He lifted the gun, but he didn't want to hit Cricket. So he sighed and lowered it again.

And that story has no place for one such as you!" More and more letters swirled out of the book, cocooning the wedding-disturber until he could no longer be seen through the magnificent mass of glowing characters. "Begone! Begone from this place and trouble us no more." There was a flash of pure light, a sound like the shattering of glass, and then silence. The Priest straightened his robe, a satisfied expression on his face. "Well that settles that. Bat, my thanks to you in handling that ruffian." I believe they're all due for a few existential crises anyway. As long as you keep them together to play off of each other, you should be able to capture them and appease the gods at the same time. He looked at his companions and began to speak. "Look, I.." But his words were interrupted by a crash and the boom of heavy footsteps. He looked up, unsheathing his sword, but a man had already appeared at the entrance.
