She Narrated a tunnel under Malevolence's field and made the ground open up beneath him.

While he waited, he played with the buckle of his satchel.

Malevolence easily caught Cricket’s hand, then grabbed him by the throat and stood, lifting him into the air. “You cannot stop me. In fact, I rather think that you’ll make excellent bait!” He turned towards the edge of the field and shouted with a voice enhanced by his technology. “Tam! Come back into the field or Cricket dies!”

Bat noticed. 

"I am. I learned your langauge."

Isadore perked up. 

"Right, right!" He tore his eyes away from the letters and picked Tam up, then hurried in the direction of the golden letters and out of the field. 

The golden letters did a happy tumble as Bat left the field. Then they did their best to arrange themselves into a message. There weren’t many of them though, so it wasn’t a very good message. It read: “laoc uq.”

The ground beneath Malevolence’s feet remained quite solid. “Well?” He asked loudly. “Do you care so little for your friend that you would watch him die?”

What would keep Love from just killing Cricket anyway? Wasn’t that his job? 

“Wait just a minute,” Bat hissed to Tam @Through The Living Glass. “He’s supposed to kill Cricket AND you. But he won’t kill Cricket yet. He needs the leverage against you. We have at least a couple seconds to… to figure something out.”

She laughed and followed him. She wore a simple black dress with deep blue accents, slick boots, and a billowing cloak. Her long black hair fell into natural ringlets, which were, at the moment, rather frizzy.
