He grabbed the strap tightly, sliding it over his head and shoulder again. The panic inside him eased a bit. “Thank you. We should probably get some rest, huh?”

His bag is prolly the one thing he’ll get mad over cuz he has some serious separation anxiety 

from a bag full of medical supplies

"Um . . . Yes? Are you parents around?" Tam asked her, even though she was pretty sure she already knew the answer.

Yes shook her head. "No. My mom's dead. Don't know where my dad is anymore."

"Oh."

She grabbed another blanket and pillow and arranged them on the ground for the younger girl.

"You can sleep here, if you'd like."

But Yes was already asleep.

Tam smiled soberly and grabbed a blanket and pillow for herself.

”And yeah, I have a good amount of melanin tablets. That wouod probably be better than the blackout injections.”

Then she walked back over to Bat and Yes and picked the sleeping child up, setting her up in the little makeshift bed. She shivered again.

How... how do you feel about earlier? With Stone? He did not want to have this conversation, but it needed to happen. For peace of mind.
