The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

Suddenly, killer rabbits.

“I’ll take the rabbits!” Rue shouts. “Someone find us a way out of here!” She begins shooting fireballs at the killer rabbits as the others struggle away from the plants. 

[The Bookwyrm he/him]

Rym chopped the vines that were reaching for him, then saved Rue from a bunny sneak attack that she had missed.

"Where are we?" he asked as more vines began to reach for him.

[Edema Rue she/her]

Rue looks around. "Something about this place is wrong. It...it's a trap!" Everyone ducks for cover as a giant _______ attacks. "Is that Subversion?"

[The Wandering Wizard he/him]

Wizard laughs, "No, it's just dragon! WELCOME TO PANTALA!"

[ThroughTheLivingSequence she/her/they/them]

"Wow, this is going great." Everyone said sourly, disintegrating a vine as it leapt towards them.

[Immortal Platypus]

"Pantala? How did I bring us here. Oh well. Subversion is usually humanoid. Just so you know. Anyway, we should tame a dragon and go kill Subversion."

"Look Everyone, you try Narrating next time. It's not as easy as you think."

"I'm not a Narrator. You are. Sequence can Narrate just fine and she may be one of the most useless people I've ever encountered on TLT. If she can do it, it can't be that hard.

[Immortal Platypus]

"See, that's my point. Don't complain if you can't do it yourself or you might find yourself in a bottomless pit because I get mad at you."

"Good point. I could still teleport everyone to our destination though. No Narration required."

"You're welcome to do it then. In fact, if you have so little faith in me, you should."

“How about I try next?” Unintelligible summoned a sword, leaping into the dragon’s mouth and bursting out the back of its head. He landed gracefully, dragon corpse collapsing behind him. “I can’t Narrate, but my Ookla powers should be able to find Subversion anyways.”

[Immortal Platypus]

"Just someone try already!!!"

[NameIess]

“All right. Everyone stay close. I’m going to try.” Unintelligible’s eyes began glowing with swirling power, and the thread warped around the group. “Globolith timolo barol. Shemali tuminue altria.”

The group felt a sharp jolt and suddenly the ground beneath them was hard and rocky, and the air felt stale and decayed. Surrounding them was a pure darkness, unbroken by even the rains test shimmer of light.

"Great. Y'know, this place looks a lot like the Witherlord's prison. Are you secretly the Witherlord?"

[NameIess]

Unintelligible glared at Everyone, which of course was impossible to see in the dark. “Look, it’s not like you could do any better.”

[ThroughTheLivingSequence she/her/they/them]

"Sure I could." Everyone waved their hands around. In the dark, all that could be seen was faint crackles of red lightning. Suddenly, the group appeared in a pristinely ornamented ballroom, people in nice clothing mingling and dancing quietly. Everyone frowned. "Hm."

The well-dressed nobles suddenly drew knives and attacked, calling for guards.

"This is a good sign." Everyone said, beginning to gather black smoke and red lightning. "Maybe this is where Subversion is hiding."

[Immortal Platypus]

"Nope, it's not, I can sense her when she is present. It's my turn again." I wiggle my right ear, my left ear, then stick out my tongue. Suddenly we appear at the bottom of the ocean. Luckily, it was a very shallow ocean. Subversion turns at the splash and starts. 

"How did you all get here? I was so careful!!!"

Rym shrugged off the moment of disorientation from the series of teleportations and turned towards Subversion.

"To be honest, I'm not quite sure."

[Immortal Platypus]

"I just randomly used Narration and brought us here. Hi!"

"Focus Platypus."

[NameIess]

Subversion quickly shapeshifts into a fish and swims into a tiny crack in the ocean floor. “You’ll never catch me, Narrators!”

[ThroughTheLivingSequence she/her/they/them]

"Would it help if I told you most of us aren't Narrators?" Everyone called after Subversion. 

[NameIess]

"Yes. Makes my job a lot easier."

The ocean constricted around the group, water forcing its way into their mouths and doing its best to drown all of them.
