"Disgusting!" Butt Venture noted from behind a nearby desk. "I was told there would be pineapples here."

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

Nyx nodded respectfully to Butt, "That is what I require. Pineapples." She said. "But you have to find them."

[NameIess]

Unfortunately, he felt himself disappearing again as the universe reasserted itself.

"Fine. I'll pay your price. As long as your favor is actually good."

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

"What do you want, then?" Asked Nyx, "I'll do anything for..." She smiled wistfully, "Pineapples."

[That1Cellist he/him]

"Can I have some too?" Butt inquired, wincing at the attention he was drawing to himself.

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

Nyx turned, surprised, "You came back?" She asked. She shook her head. "No. You may not unless you give me something."

[NameIess]

The fabric of reality rippled again, and Butt was gone. For now.

"I need a sidekick. One that isn't the ghost of a long-dead evil ancestor."

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

 

Nyx laughed, "You want me as a sidekick? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!"

Asela looked shocked. "What? you? No, I was thinking of someone like Fedral."

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

Nyx nodded, "Good. I wouldn't have been your sidekick, even for pineapples." She thought for a second, "You can have one of my apprentices after you get the pineapples."

[NameIess]

"No time for that. The universe is ending right now. I'll get you your pineapples later."

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

"Fine." Yelled Nyx, "You can have Gourd." She waved her hand and a short, spindly little boy walked out of the shadows, "Hurry. And get me pineapples."

[NameIess]

Asela eyed the boy critically. "He have any experience with questing?"

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

"N-no." He squeaked, shying away, "I-I-I'm sorry."

[NameIess]

"Perfect. Time to get moving then. Come on kid, let's go."

[The Bookwyrm he/him]

Gourd jumped and followed Asela timidly.

"I-if it's not t-too much trouble...could I...I mean, um...where are we going?"

The wind whistled in a sinister manner, as if it didn't want this question to be answered.

Gourd shivered, "Th-that's not very comforting, miss."

The twosome traveled far, till they arrived at a dark cave with inscribed runes.

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

Asela inspected the runes carefully, "Hmmm..." She said, "I don't recognize this language." She said. "Come on, let's find out if there's anything in the cave." Gourd looks panicked, "Um, uh, miss? I-it says e-enter and, um, d-die."

Those words were scratched over an older inscription, which was what the rest of the runes in the cavern were made of.

[Rabbit Unmade she/her]

Asela squinted, "Really?" Gourd paused, "Beneath, uh, th-those it s-says... d-destroy, um, evil?"

Asela frowned, "Is that who's destroying the universe?" She asked. Gourd shrugged.
