I recently re-read the prologue of Oathbringer, when I noticed something that I did not happen to see mentioned. In the end of the prologue, Eshonia takes the sphere that glowed black. However in the prologue of tWoK, Szeth is given a similar sphere that he takes with him and hides. It would appear that there are multiple of the black spheres in the possession of Gavilar, and yet he implies that the single gemstone he gives to Eshonia holds a spren related to the transformation of the parshmen and parshendi and the release of the storm. Perhaps the genstone contained a spren that is not unique or as important as people seem to assume, or that he somehow has multiple very important spren captured. In either case I found that this could be related to what spren the black sphere contains, and perhaps it's purpose.

Maybe that is where Venli gets the spren to bond that allows her to discover stormform.

I would think this is the case since Eshonia is instructed to show the the black stone to her leaders, and Venli is heavily involved with the leadership of the Parshendi in WoR.

The original prologue (from a reading Brandon did months ago) had Gavilar specifying he had more black spheres. That's the biggest reason i don't believe for a second that they hold unmade.

It could be a safe system working with the same spansreed's concept.

He unmade is trapped in a gemstone and then the gemstone is divided.

Unless all' of them are broken the Unmade remain partially in chain
