Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 The aliens! They kidnapped me! Ten years of torture! They know us.... They are coming.... Sue me, I just watched Independence Day.
The Honor Spren she/her Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Forget romance, cheap chocolate is where it's at. Exactly. I went to my local dollar store today, just for some of that 30% off chocolate.
Kestrel she/her Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Yesterday my sort of boyfriend and I went on a sort of date?? I'm still confused by him. And we even had a conversation about our relationship but its still as confusing as ever.

And we even had a conversation about our relationship but its still as confusing as ever. Ah, the nebulous phases of young love. Romance will get less awkward as you get older, but for now, you're both figuring this whole relationship thing out. And I don't just mean your relationship with each other; I mean the concept of romantic relationships itself. Just keep going and enjoy it.
Mistrunner Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Just spent the weekend with all five siblings! Bit hectic (not to mention squashed) but fun. Great Discovery: "Donald Trump" is the best answer to any card in Apples to Apples. Also, this: 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Just spent the weekend with all five siblings! Bit hectic (not to mention squashed) but fun. Great Discovery: "Donald Trump" is the best answer to any card in Apples to Apples. Also, this: I'll have to remember that. With my siblings, playing Salvador Dali to almost anything is nearly a sure bet. But Donald Trump might rival him now. In other news, I think I love Week in Weird.
The Honor Spren she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I'm posting this from the expirimental browser on my kindle paperwhite! Everything's in back and white, and none of the videos work, but it's better than I expected it to be. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I have heard of them, I figured they were another generic "Jeff the Killer "Slenderman*" meme thing and didnt bother looking into them. These stories are pretty interesting though. *Slenderman is actually pretty cool, then memes happened and kind of ruined the character... They are probably indeed creatures in disguise, but the eyes being the window of the soul and all that they cant disguise their eyes. Oddly enough I am no expert in this entire supernatural thingy. I probably should be, but I dont even know what the energy I released in that forest was... I...know a few things. Or I think I know a few things. I could be completely delusional. XD But the black-eyed kids don't worry me so much as the shark-mouthed weirdos that I've heard of people running into. It seems they're still learning, still not experts on the whole "acting human" thing. I don't think they have advanced emotional manipulation; only the ability to frighten their victims into action or inaction. Not sure why they'd need permission to enter a home or car, though. Not finished with this one yet, but the Dark Mirror seems pretty spooky too. Threshold magic. Morzathoth referenced Dresden Files, but it's really a theory that pervades the pagan spheres. Basically, a person's home is charged with their own sort of protection magic; the stronger a sense of home and family, the stronger the protection is.

Now, to find a search term that doesn't include the word "weirdo." Threshold magic. Morzathoth referenced Dresden Files, but it's really a theory that pervades the pagan spheres. Kaymyth she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I must look these up. Now, to find a search term that doesn't include the word "weirdo." Well, I'm doomed. You may not find much on them. Most of what I've heard are firsthand accounts, not stuff that's made it into the urban legend sphere. You're not doomed, you just need your own place. And once you get a place, there are ways to kick-start and strengthen things. White sage, dragonsblood incense, wind chimes near any outside doors, religious symbols (any will do, so long as you have faith in them) on the walls...

Yeah, "shark mouth people" turned up a bunch of pictures of shark mouths. So does making it your own place play a role?
Kaymyth she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) Yeah, "shark mouth people" turned up a bunch of pictures of shark mouths. So does making it your own place play a role? Heh. They're sort of weird beasties, and usually only people with some level of Sensitivity can spot them or catch their attention. You generally don't want to be that person. Unless you're me, and then it's the beasties that duck and run. Yes. Placing your stamp on a home, claiming it as yours - that sort of primes the space to accept you. Putting your own energies in starts building up a shield of sorts. Edited February 16, 2016 by Kaymyth

I plan to create a fandom apartment (Doctor Who kitchen, comic book superhero living area, Potterverse bathroom, Stormlight bedroom), so would that help?
The Honor Spren she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I don't know if it would help, but it would certainly give you a badchull house.
Kestrel she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Someone sticky noted the entirety of the head band director's office this weekend. Said someone might die tomorrow.

Someone with...super fluffy woo-woo abilities. I probably delved a bit too much into stuff already for this thread. I'm kind of hip-deep in Weird Crap, and I doubt that most of y'all really want to hear the crazy. Someone sticky noted the entirety of the head band director's office this weekend. The Honor Spren she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 10 More minutes till I can get Calamity on kindle!! EEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 10 More minutes till I can get Calamity on kindle!! EEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! When is it going to be released? What time?
Kaymyth she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 When is it going to be released? What time? I should get the Reckoners trilogy for my Kindle this week. I have a friend who's going to be running a game in that world next month. Though apparently we'll all be playing Reckoners, and not doing crazy things like deliberately going out and trying to destroy Oregon.

Kaymyth she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Pfft. Normalcy. Where's the fun in that? Well, these are the more normal gaming friends, the folks I know from college. It's the other group of friends that do stuff like run day-long grinder campaigns featuring such characters as the kids from the old 1980s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon, or Nac Mac Feegles.

Kaymyth she/her Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Nac Mac Feegles? Discworld fae-kind. They're tiny blue Scottish fairies who were kicked out of Fairyland for being too rowdy. They think they're dead and in heaven. Lots of shenanigans are involved. It's from Pratchett's young adult Tiffany Aching books.
