Blaze1616 he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Well, the Stabby Award winners have been announced, and Brandon won three! Shadows of Self won Best Novel of 2015, Perfect State won Best Short Fiction of 2015, and Writing Excuses won Best Related Work of 2015! That's awesome! Link 3
Mestiv he/him Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Am I the only one that thought, after reading the name "Stabby Award" of hemalurgic spikes and stabbing people with them? Like, he won a special award with which he can stab people 2
Stormgate he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I initially thought that the Stabby awards was an forum joke. I think the DA should get on this, try to win as many as possible (AMAP)
Voidus Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 We don't need awards to know we're the best stabbers, our large collection of spikes lets us know that already. 6
king of nowhere Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I also thought that stabby award was a joke, because what kind of name is that? it suggests that you get stabbed. Although I wasn't thinking specifically of hemalurgical spikes, but rather of belkar bitterleaf 1
Blaze1616 he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) I mean, they award you an engraved knife, and apply a trophy next to your username for all your posts in r/fantasy. Perhaps it started as a joke, but it still means his works were chosen as best of the year by a community. I never said the award was prestigious Though looking at some of the competition for some of the categories... Edited January 11, 2016 by Blaze1616
Argent he/him Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 And he didn't even need my vote! I saw the nomination thread go up, decided I'll check in a few days, and the next time I checked was when the winners were being announced... So I don't even know what the competition looked like this year.
