DSC01 he/him Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Im still somewhere on 6.2 and havent read it in forever... now that people mention how dark the other stories are though I kind of want to read them... I like dark and violent. I like some dark and violent stuff. I love R. Scott Bakker's Second Apocalypse series, and that is very much a grimdark series. I just really didn't appreciate Pact's unrelenting bleakness. I guess you could describe a lot of The Second Apocalypse the same way, but it's different. 1
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Arc 26, and things have sure been shaken.
DSC01 he/him Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I had to look up which arc that was. I don't want to spoil anything, so I can't really say much, but in response to "things have sure been shaken," I can only say, just you wait...
Landis963 he/him Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) Arc 26, and things have sure been shaken. I remember the thread on GiTP roundabout the time that particular plot point was published. At least 3 pages worth of variations on "Well storm." Good times. EDIT: Wait, are you starting Arc 26, or finishing Arc 26? Because... yeah. Edited January 22, 2016 by Landis963
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 I remember the thread on GiTP roundabout the time that particular plot point was published. At least 3 pages worth of variations on "Well storm." Good times. EDIT: Wait, are you starting Arc 26, or finishing Arc 26? Because... yeah. Well, Arc 28 is......insane.
Landis963 he/him Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Well, Arc 28 is......insane. Yeah, that's roundabout the time I just started reacting to everything she did with "Oh, Taylor." In pretty much every context-appropriate inflection and meaning. She racked up quite a few uniques by the end.
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 Yeah, that's roundabout the time I just started reacting to everything she did with "Oh, Taylor." In pretty much every context-appropriate inflection and meaning. She racked up quite a few uniques by the end. Yeah, but more of the premise.
Landis963 he/him Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Yeah, but more of the premise. Yeah, that. Oh, Taylor!
Spoolofwhool Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Great, great story. I picked up Worm at the start of September, and finished it 3 weeks later. A real rollercoaster of good writing. For those who didn't know, the who thing is a bit over 1.5 million words, which is about 3 times the length of WoR. One thing I find really interesting about it is that I find practically every character likable, not just the main group of Undersiders or the Wards, but also super minor characters. Leet and Uber are cool. Skidmark had his appeal with his ideology and how he organized his group. Number Man, I would want to know his backstory more, about what caused his change in alliances. The general point is, that few characters feel like padding to the story. I can hardly think of any which genuinely bored me by their existence, I would love to see backstories for most named characters. Probably my favorite update was Interlude 27b. If anyone wants to discuss it a bit, then I'm up. Sorry if this is a necroposting. I'll makea new topic if it is.
