ThirdGen Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Come on Lark! You like Who judging by your Tumblr! Seriously though, how does she look anything like Mr. Radcliffe and Ford morphed together? The closest I've got to a mix of Harry and Jones. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 The closest I've got to a mix of Harry and Jones. *groan* 2
Quiver he/him Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 The closest I've got to a mix of Harry and Jones. You have failed this forum. 3

Kobold King he/him Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 How am I already at 1,000+ rep what the heck Rep flies when you're having fun. 1
Quiver he/him Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 You realize that this sort of talk only encourages him, right? Clearly, to stop Thirdgen, I must become someone else. I must become something else. 3
Kobold King he/him Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 So apparently someone snapped this picture outside a bar where they worked. There are only so many reasons the Joker could be jumpstarting someone's car, and not many of them are good. 3
Kestrel she/her Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 My friend is spamming Pokemon on my tumblr dash So to get her back I'm spamming Mistborn 4
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Eating McDonalds in the SLC airport. All of the time stamps on the posts here are still in AZ time, but my phone automatically switched to UT time when I landed. This is really throwing me off. 2

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Yay! You're in Utah! Enjoy! (I get irrationally happy when people visit my state, if you hadn't noticed...) Not for long. I'm just waiting to board my connecting flight to Portland for a friend's wedding. Though I'm still waiting to hear back on that job with the SLC library. 1

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Ah. I see. Hopefully these employers can see quality when it's in front of them. Thanks. There wasn't an experience requirement on the posting, but they might go with someone who has worked in libraries longer than I have. Of course, I'm hoping they choose the "young adult who knows all the cool teen stuff" vibe that I project. 2

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 They'd better. I think you could convert many a teen to the Sanderfan cause. First recommended YA read: Reckoners Second: Dan Wells' John Wayne Cleaver books Third: Mistborn Sound good so far? 2
Kestrel she/her Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Good luck with that application! Ah they need to pick you; You're doing those kids a favor! 2
Delightful Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) I'd maybe put Partials as second, but sounds great! They'de better give you a job! Or the Seventeenth Shard will come after them Edited July 9, 2015 by Delightful 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I'd maybe put Partials as second, but sounds great! Haven't read Partials, but I saw it on Goodreads a while back and it looked interesting.
Delightful Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 It's my favourite teen dystopia. Particularly how everything is resolved particularly the love triangle, but also that the characters and the readers are treated as intelligent human beings.

I mean, I liked Hunger Games well enough, but that moment in the third book when Katniss takes a moment to explain to the reader exactly what "The Hanging Tree" means was a bit much.

Also between hunger games and divergent (so I've heard - I couldn't make myself read the third) everyone dies in the end. EVERYONE. And just, no. It's like the author goes "I couldn't be bothered resolving anything. Let's just make the fangirls all emotional and kill them all."Edit: re Partials - for a start a large part of the plot is based on biology (virology?) and there's real science and its awesome. Orlion Blight he/him Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 The Hanging Tree? Sounds like the sequel to The Giving Tree as written by Frank Miller
+Slowswift Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Personally, I tried to read "Partials" a couple of times and failed each time. Not really my cup of hot cocoa. I did thoroughly enjoy "I am Not a Serial Killer". Anyone here read "A Night of Blacker Darkness"? Edited July 9, 2015 by Slowswift
