Alright.

I'll wait a little bit to see if anyone else is doing anything before Nalthis is obliterated.

hmm… maybe…

what’s the current state of Nalthis like, from a cursory Shard-viewing lens?

Uhh

Some basic Yolish non-fain life

No humans or other sentient species

And very vulnerable

i think Grace might decide to protect it, on a whim. for experimentation, if nothing else

Virtuosity’s supernova had reached a certain system, containing several planets. One even held life.

Spoiler

Perhaps, in time, this place might be known as Nalthis.

Why stop its breaking? Less…

Satisfying? Lady Isilyar supplied.

Yes. And… frustrating. Why?

It had taken some effort before Grace’s impositions upon the Shard’s communications had finally taken root. The roil of emotion remained behind its words—never to fade even in slight—but words and questions it did indeed use, instead of the lashings out of a child.

Why not? It makes no difference whether this system lives or dies, but it is by interfering in trifling matters such as this that we learn our capabilities and limits, in this crucial timeframe.

The power begrudged its use, but enjoyed nonetheless the release of tension through the expense of energy; the emitting of a counterforce to shield the system.

While the Shard distracted itself in its throws, Grace’s eyes turned inward and recalled. The others, many of them, had found planets of their own to shield and patron. Tying their power to them in a way she saw as foolish. It was much too early. Yet the fruits of those choices were an interesting topic to be explored.

What would happen if she did the same? Not genuinely, of course, but a suitable course of investigation. Her sense as a Vessel was beyond anything she had known before. All was intuitive. What would happen if she chose this planet, then?

So, tendrils of power descended into its soul, oddly a grateful thing, before she gently peeled back its layers to peer ever deeper. Careful incisions, to reveal an interesting attachment to Command.

How interesting.

So you're defending Nalthis, but not settling.

I don't believe any Seeds are headed here.

Unless we want to? I do have an extra seed.

my opinion be neutral on that front, methinks. grace’d probably do Unmaking things with ‘em, so that could be neat

Yeah... Whimsy isn't really doing anything.
Pretty much gone a bit dormant.

Heck, it seems like most of the shards are dormant.

Gimme a bit to think

Although out of curiosity

Would there be any reason why Mercy couldn't move the seeds out of the system once they had arrived?

Yes*

They tie themselves to the world, like Ba Ado Mishram, so removing them can cause bad things.
