Ooh yeah, I'm familiar with that one. And sometimes bowing to teachers and such when they great you.

I don't struggle with that as much cause my style doesn't really do that, but I will do it a lot when I'm handing people stuff, especially if I happen to be holding it in both hands

I'm not alone!

I also do Scouts, and in this one camp called NYLT there's a rule called "no cover under cover," basically you cant wear any head coverings (excluding religious head coverings) under roofs or in buildings and stuff... whenever I come back from staffing it I keep that habit for the next month or so.

You staff NYLT? Neat!

I'm good at accents. But sometimes that's a problem. When I'm reading a book or watching a tv show and a character speaks in an accent, I will get it in my head and start speaking in that accent. Even thinking in that accent. And if I don't catch myself doing this, I end up getting stuck in that accent. Stuck as in I can't speak in any other way without spending 5 minutes solely concentrating on speaking normal again. This isn't usually a problem, and most people who know me have gotten used to it, but it can be annoying sometimes. Like when I was with friends, and accidentally got stuck in a completely ridiculous accent, and none of them could understand me. Luckily, it's only happened a few times in school.

Quirks? Sure.

deep breath

  1. Ising the oddly passioned becoming of fictional tongues, yes?
  2. I'm fascinated by war history and military details.
    Spoiler

I'm planning on joining the Canadian Armed Forces as an artillery gunner.

  3. I'm the kind of person who’d know the flag of every faction in a fictional war. (cough...Cosmere...cough)
  4. I collect random facts like they’re Pokémon.
    Spoiler

Did you know that the Cosmere is actually a dwarf galaxy?

  5. I’ll spend ten minutes debating a single sentence.
    Spoiler

This sentence is concise and unambiguous. The alliteration in “single sentence” provides a satisfying rhythmic conclusion, while “ten minutes” serves as a mild yet effective hyperbole.

Grammatically, it is sound; however, stylistically, it risks appearing plain. A stronger exaggeration, such as “fifteen” or “twenty minutes”, might create greater dramatic effect. Moreover, the phrase “debating a single sentence” introduces ambiguity, as it is unclear whether the debate occurs internally or with another person. Adding a brief clarifier could enhance precision and readability.

  6. I appreciate formal prose, provided it does not devolve into excessive bureaucracy.
  7. I possess an inclination toward the utilization of sesquipedalian verbiage purely for the sake of personal amusement.
  8. I am precise with my grammar and spelling. But, I'm Canadian, so... colour and tire exist.
  9. I can turn a random curiosity into a two-hour research session.
  10. I like when something has a name, even if it’s obscure or technical.
  11. I describe my cats like they’re mythological beings.
  12. I talk to animals like they understand every word.
  13. I use sarcasm as both humour and emotional armour.
  14. I remember random details about things I care about, but forget basic stuff like where my keys are.
    Spoiler

Today I was searching for my shoes for… 30 minutes.

  15. I like the smell of old books and skunks.
  16. I’m the kind of person who looks up the Latin root of a word mid-conversation.
  17. I sometimes keep my humour dry enough that people sometimes miss it.
  18. I actually enjoy being a little eccentric as long as it’s authentic.
  19. I find weird satisfaction in properly formatted lists.
  20. Sometimes I write wrong on purpose. me is happy when I writes you is.
  21. I have a soft spot for clever villains.
  22. I think best when I’m pacing.
  23. I’m skeptical by default. I need evidence for everything.
  24. I feel calmer around animals than people.
  25. Meep meeep meepeep, meep meepity meep meeeepy.

I have done the same! I also sometimes will use a stereotypical accent around people who have that accent, but I can do that to my own, and it messes with people so bad.
