He frowned. “Whispers. Aeia doesn’t like to talk about it - she, I think, likes to pretend it doesn’t exist. She also likes to pretend that the Eternal Kingdom, so she has to at least pretend not to mind me looking into it. I’ve found… nothing. Not a trace. But it’s interesting you mentioned it.”

Am I? I believe not. Plus - the Slumber… think of it more like exhaustion. You’ve just ran thee bajiliony miles, and you’ve had no rest. It gets hard to think.

"Yes, this Intellect is being driven by it."

What was her other half's name? The one who I merged with

“Interesting. I’ll have to meet him, actually.”

Varies. Shadow of Creation, Keylana. She wasn’t who you merged with, though. You merged with Ash - her power.

"Do you know of a... Keylana? or an Ash?"

He laughed. “What know of Keylann is only what Aeia is willing to say! Honestly, in any other case, I wouldn’t be inclined to trust her word, but she’s probably the least fanatical one! If I were to ask the Judge, I would probably get a lecture on unholy thoughts.” He shivered. “That man scares me. No, the only person other than Aeia who might give me truth in the matter is Waela, but she… well, her words have two sides. A snake, that one.”

”I have not heard of this Ash, however.”

“Not.. really…”

He narrowed his eyes. “Dead or dying? Or did he do something you don’t approve of?”

“He… He didn’t let me mourn important people in my life. I understand why, but.. it hurt, and it felt like I couldn’t trust him. And he’s dying.”

The Eternal King hesitated. “I am sorry. The burdens of leadership… well, they are something I have yet to explore.”

He looked away. “A dying deity. Interesting. May I join you?”

“Thank you.” He looked up the mount. “I’m guessing the dying deity is on top of the loftiest peak?”

He said this with a grin.

Before long, they had reached… the University!

Similar, but not equivalent, to the castle Felicty and Aela originally visited, it had a great darkness drawn over it. Even being near it caused a hefty exhaustion.

@Argenti

I’m almost ready to tell you his name.

@Spark of Hope

Just a little bit farther…

She nodded. She could ignore what was happening in her mind while doing this.

They soon found a room in which the darkness was near absolute. A small light emanated from Jakob, dispelling all their exhaustion.

@Argenti
You’re welcome.

The Eternal King looked at him sideways. “You’re dead god giving us this light?”

Spoiler

Ok, I’ll refrain from the end until Glass gets on.
