Alright, I'm not sure I'll be on at all for the rest of today. So Elsie is gonna take a power nap.

Elsie, once again exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster that is this quest, slowly closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

“Nah, I think I see you right. I guess this stuff can be subjective. I’m still pretty sure you’re wrong, though.”

Ed didn’t seem to have very good taste. That could explain why he liked how Jenny looked so much.

“If I’m wrong, then so is everyone else but you. But thank you.”

Jenny stowed her mirror back in her bag, her face falling. Arguing didn’t seem to be doing much good. She knew exactly how Ed was feeling. It was a miserable way of thinking. She still thought that way sometimes, but was slowly learning to like how she looked.

He smiled again, leaning against her. It didn’t really matter how anyone but her thought he looked.

Ed was smiling, so maybe he was still happy. That was good enough for now. She leaned against him back. Jenny wasn’t sure what else to do. She wanted to start attempting to carve something into the table, but that would probably get her in trouble. It was made of plastic, anyways.

"Finally. I need to stretch my legs." Harold said. "Anyone up for a city run?" he asked hopefully, looking around.

“I guess I could”

"Great! You set the pace."

“Ok” he set off at a eight minute mile pace “how far are we running?”

“I’m not sure we should separate…”

Jenny voiced her protest as she stepped off of the train, but didn’t do so very forcefully. She still didn’t trust herself to know how best to help people.  Splitting up in a large city while actively being pursued by monsters and the police really didn’t seem like a very good idea, though. Or maybe splitting up would make them draw less attention. Now Jenny was split on what they should do.

How long was the train ride? Also, would Gift still be in Jenny’s hair Weaver?

My quick Google said a little over a day, so I assume they got some sleep somehow. And it is.

“They’ll be ok,” Edgar said to her with confidence he didn’t feel. He hoped they would, chances were they wouldn’t meet any monsters, or at least not any truly dangerous ones.

Jenny nodded, still rather concerned. She broke off a chunk of her ambrosia and ate it. She was now down to half a square, but it was worth it. She felt the wound in her side finally heal completely. Now she could actually be useful in fights again. That was one thing she knew she could help with. Well, so long as there wasn’t any friendly fire on her part.

Edgar wrapped an arm around her. “How are you with heights?”

“Not great.”

Jenny was fine with climbing trees, but anything more than that put her on edge. She could probably survive a fall from a tree, but she couldn’t survive a fall from a tall building or airplane. Her dad’s realm was the underground, not the sky. She was perfectly fine with that and had no intentions of trying to act otherwise.

“Ok.” Her would really like to go up that arch, but if it made her uncomfortable then he wouldn’t. And he didn’t want to meet the same fate as his dad.

“Why do you ask?”

Was Ed planning on doing something really high up? They couldn’t go on any planes; Zeus would blast them out of the sky. Was there a tall building he wanted to stand on, or maybe a giant tree? Perhaps he randomly felt like rock climbing.

He looked over at the arch. “No, not really.”

Why was he looking at the arch? It was really cool looking, but what did that have to do with heights… wait.

”Can you go inside of that thing?!”

Jenny had assumed that it was just a giant sculpture. It looked like it would be shaped really weirdly internally, but it was possible that it was hollow enough to fit people in there. She was morbidly fascinated by this tall structure, now.

“Yeah, I think you can. But it’s ok.”
