They don't always see us as worth caring about." Jenny shrunk a bit, but mostly hid it for Ed’s sake. Her dad probably loved her, right? He’d been nice to her when she was little. But she’d killed the woman he loved. Did he hate her for it? He’d sent monsters after her for years, but it was apparently so she could be whisked away to camp Halfblood so she wouldn’t be able to hurt anyone else. Did that mean he thought she was a murderer or just someone who had made a mistake? Would he still forgive her even if he thought it was a mistake? He hadn’t spoken to her ever since that day she’d broken. Edited March 27, 2024 by Lunamor

That just means I'll be able to find my dad. And... Maybe my mom will end up being one of the few that cares."

And if she’s as great as you say she is, she’ll make it there as well.” As always, Jenny meant exactly what she said. She looked into Ed’s eyes, trying to show him that she genuinely believed this. “I…really hope I can. But I’m not so sure. She will though.”

She will though.” “You can.” Jenny spoke firmly, but didn’t elaborate much more. She’d probably just manage to accidentally make Ed feel worse if she did. She was glad that Terrance and Elsie had moved on from the subject of death. Previously she wouldn’t have minded it and probably would’ve enjoyed it, but now that she had met Ed her view of it had changed. She still respected it, understood how vital it was to life, but she had also become scared of it.
