"Okay." She said, not sounding convinced. She went back to her game.

Thoughts raced through his mind. Why does she care? Does she really, or is she just faking? She's going to betray you. Trust no one, remember?

He moved away from her a bit in his seat.

She paused. "Sorry." She said, assuming he thought she was being annoying.

He did not answer.

Trust no one.

His hands began to shake.

Elsie frantically searched through her backpack, before pulling out a stress ball, and putting it on his lap. She hoped it would help.

"That you care. That you trust me."

She looked confused. "But... I'm not?" She said, feeling unsure of how to proceed. "I do trust you. With my life, actually. And I care because you're nice."

"You shouldn't." For the first time, he met her eyes with intentionality and held her gaze.

She should experience a vision of what she dreads most, though right at the start she won't notice anything because the vision will take place wherever someone currently is.

Dang. That's mean.

She looked confused "Why not?"

He just looked away again, waiting for whatever would happen to happen. He knew he shouldn't feel guilty. All he was doing was speeding up the inevitable. Still, it hurt to lose the fragment of hope, however false.

Yeah, uh, based on the stuff that happened yesterday, along with backstory stuff... TRAUMA

"Terrance? Why-" Someone walked into the booth. He had a gun. Her eyes widened in horror. No one else seemed to notice. She tried to speak, but instead a whine escaped from the back of her throat. She recognized this guy. She regularly had nightmares about him. He shot everyone in the train car with her, before grinning evilly. She started silently crying, too stunned to move. The man left, grinning and laughing.

Terrance watched her, not seeing was she saw but feeling her terror. I'm sorry.

It can end now.

It vanished, and she could see that no one was dead, but she really was unable to process that.

"That's why not."

She didn't say anything. She wanted to, but her tongue felt heavy in her mouth. So she just stared sightlessly at the floor, tears streaming from her eyes.

Terrance felt guilt continue to eat at him. But it had been the right thing, not just for his sake.

"I... I'm sorry." She whispered, assuming she'd done something wrong. "I'll leave you alone, if you want." She pulled a sheep stuffed animal out of her bag, and buried her face in it.
