Jenny grinned widely. The crow was beautiful. She couldn’t believe it was letting her pet it; they always seemed so skittish. Did something about Elsie’s demigod parent let her tame crows?

”Live ones are supposed to bring you shiny stuff if you befriend them, right? I’ve reanimated a few crows before, but they only brought me rotting sticks and bits of trash.”

Jenny bent over slightly so she was face to face with the crow. She spoke to it softly.

”I bet you know how to get all sorts of trinkets because you’re a very good boy, Dr. Doom.”

Dr. Doom was a very strange name. Perhaps Elsie had chosen it because crows were often seen as bad omens.

”Oh, I was going to ask if you knew any medical stuff. People keep getting hurt, and I need to make sure I can help them. I figured you might be able to help since Demeter is related to lifey-things and you’ve helped heal us before.”

"Yeah." Harold says, trying to recover from the shock of seeing a cyclops again. He was looking distant, and didn't even draw his bow when he saw the cyclopes.
