That's not a very reasonable goal for someone who can't make eye contact without terrifying people." “That doesn’t mean you aren’t supposed to be happy. It’s not your fault that you accidentally scare people sometimes. You didn’t choose to be different. You didn’t pick for your parent to be the god of what most people hate, even though it’s a necessary thing. You’ve got it harder than most, but that doesn’t mean you should just give up.”

Your parent doesn’t decide who you are.” @The Aspiring Archivist

That’s good enough for now.” Jenny scanned Ed, checking for visible signs of injury. It was probably fine to ask about whatever had happened to him a few minutes ago now. ”Are you ok? You seemed like you were hurting really badly earlier.”

Please don’t think this was your fault.” Jenny was a bit worried by Ed’s answer. She didn’t like the possibility that whatever Terrance had was contagious.

She was worried that falling asleep wasn’t a good idea, however. They needed to be able to leave quickly, so Jenny needed to be alert. ”I need to find a way to stay awake. Got any ideas?” She rarely had this problem. Jenny had a surprisingly good sleep schedule.
