Terrance's eyes met his, looking afraid and desperate. Unfortunately, this hit Edgar with a wave of terror and dread, more intense than what Terrance had caused before.

Jenny desperately wanted to go to Ed, make sure he was actually ok, but she couldn’t. She’d probably hurt herself more and add to the list of people needing medical attention. Lucid was over there, Lucid would help Ed and Terrance.

Jenny was now even more concerned. What was wrong? Why was he crawling? She leaned forwards, tried to get closer to him. She didn’t make it very far.

He made it to her, then curled up next to her. He didn’t say anything, didn’t look at her. The dread was overpowering, all he could really feel was that he needed to be by her.

Jenny wrapped her arms around Ed, trying to comfort him. He said he was fine, said he didn’t need help. But it didn’t seem like that was the case. She didn’t know what to do at all, and she absolutely hated the feeling.

”Can I help?”

She asked him this softly. Jenny knew she was repeating Lucid’s question, but felt like she should ask again just in case.

Jenny didn’t notice Lucid’s thanks. Ed was the only thing she was focused on.

He sank into her embrace, shuddering. “Stay here?” he whispered. He closed his eyes, trying to ignore the things he felt.

Ed was shuddering. Was he cold? Scared, maybe? Perhaps this was from Terrance’s magic. But why would he use it on Ed? Jenny tightened her arms around him. Seeing him like this was awful, far worse than the wound burning in her side.

Ed had been doing terribly, he’d needed her help. There was no reason for him to apologize. Jenny wanted to ask him what exactly had happened, but she wasn’t sure if that was a good idea or not. She opted to remain silent for now, keeping an arm wrapped around him.

Jenny felt strangely calmer. Had she not been this calm, she would’ve found this unnerving.
