She slowly stood up, a bit shaky. "See you then, then."

“See you.”

Hours later, Daniel walked into the classroom, a few minutes early this time.

"Hi." She smiled at him, looking much neater and better rested than he had seen her before.

“Hey, how are you doing?”

"You aren't. It's alright. It's good to say some of these things out loud."

"It depends. I guess I don't really use it much, I just practice doing it arbitrarily."

“Are you using it right now at all?”

"No."

“That’s good, I don’t want you to need to around me. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever made an illusion of?”

"I once made a cat with seven legs."

“Wow. So I’ve learned how to make an illusion around myself, is making a separate illusion the same?”

"It's similar, but maybe a bit harder."

“Ok.” Daniel tried to do the same thing he did to change his appearance, only focusing on the desk next to him. He attempted to change it to look blue, but failed. His concentration was evident in his face.

"Don't think about trying to change it. Think about changing what you see, and what that means."

“Ok,” Daniel said, flustered at his failure. He tried again, this time managing to make a small section of the desk look blue.

"Why is the word blue? Was it dyed, is it just a unique feature of the wood itself?" She frowned. "I guess I misspoke. You kind of need to know that you're just seeing it, but at the same time you imagine that whatever you are making appear to be true was always the case."

Lilyana nodded and then yawned, "then sleep right?"

"Unfortunately no, I still have a class to teach," replied Anna.

"It's also early in the morning here, you probably traveled through a massive timezone change."

"Yeah, Mom, maybe you should go teach your class," Eddie gave her a pointed look. "Sorry, Lil...if you want to get used to this timezone, you'll have to stay awake."

“Ok,” he said, making the adjustment. He tried a third time, and the entire desk turned black, looking charred. “I…did it!”

"Nice!" She beamed at him.
