"Okay..." Aydri says, then stops talking, letting the woman concentrate. Don't you die on me Cedar. Don't you dare.

Eventually, Cedar began to breathe again. The woman pulled back, looking weary.

Eventually, Cedar began to breathe again. The woman leaned back, looking weary.

Aydri approaches the woman. "Thank you. Oh, thank you!" She says, starting to cry joyfully.

Then she goes over to Cedar. "You're okay," she says, "You're gonna be okay."

"I'm just glad I was in town," she said.

Cedar's eyes opened, and he looked up at Aydri. "Why..."

"Because I care about you." Aydri said, "And I'm not gonna let you die, no matter how much you try."

"I don't deserve that." He paused. "I don't deserve you."

"Yes. You. DO." Aydri says, grabbing Cedar. "You do deserve me, I deserve you, and you. Are. Amazing." She wraps her arms around Cedar, in a warm, tight hug. "And without you... I'd be nothing."

"Yes, you can! And I'll help." She says, letting go of him partially to look him in the eyes, keeping her arms around him. "We can do this. Together."

He just looked into her eyes for a long while. "I... I'm tired."

"Okay." Aydri says. "I'll bring you back home." She doesn't stand, however. She just sits there looking at his face, into his eyes, his cheeks, his lips.

She closes her eyes, holding him tightly. "It's okay," She whispers quietly. "It's going to be okay." She then just sits, silent, embracing him, keeping him safe.

"No need..." Aydri says, "I'm just glad you're still here." She holds him, not wanting to let go.

Eventually his sobbing receded, and he slowly pulled away. "Let's go, then. We both need rest."
