Shovel man takes careful aim, then hurls his shovel into the glowing eye of the demon.

sleeper smiles. "i wondered when you could come back" and quickly draws a circle around the demon, forcing it in the circle so it cannot escape while he does the ritual.

Confusion fills shovel man as his shovel appears to dissolve. Confusion at how something so impossible could happen. That shovel had been with him since childhood. It was given to him by his father, and for as long as he can remember that shovel has been his near-constant companion.

It wasn't magical, of course. Nothing about him was magical. But even still, he feels as if its destruction should have been impossible. As if something is incredibly wrong with the world.

Shovel man's head begins to spin, his knees weaken, and he collapses to the ground unconscious.

Xiylna flies forward. "Mmm...naughty naughty!" She says, her voice changing from shovel man's to the second's to sleepers, then back again. "That was very naughty."

The drawn circle glows with purple-red light now.

The second temporarily halts Sleeper's ritual and attempts to commune with the Gaze

sleeper becomes angry, but lets it go for now.

Shovel man begins convulsing slightly.

sleeper looks at shovel man, then motions for someone to help the poor guy.

Who was Shovel Man? Surely, a man with no shovel could not be Shovel Man.

And still, it Gazed on.

sleeper snuffs it out, because playing with fire is dangerous.

The ex-shovel man mutters something incomprehensible.

Xiylna also mutters something incomprehensible. Then she makes more fire and starts singing to it.

sleeper says "i can get your shovel back, just let me bind the demon."
