Well to be honest I actually finished this a while ago but was too lazy to post it... (don't tell anyone) but it's the next part in the My Love Has Gone Across the Sea... cartoon? Illustration? Interpretation?

Whatever. It's again, not great, but this is mostly just to get me into drawing and just being somewhat artistic.

EDIT: AGH I just realized that El has metal carapace, because he rips out the normal stuff and replaces it every Rebirth.

So now I have to figure out how to do metal.

Thank you!! The nice thing about it is that if I get the proportions wrong... I can say it's artistic liberty when drawing an alien species.

But... aah... I can't figure out the shiny metal horns...

Have you tried using natural references for unnatural things? Like using gazelle horns, then making them look metallic?

What do you mean by coloured shading? I just used a pencil, honestly...

Well, actually not, exactly. I have been a Shalladin shipper in the past, but now I see that Shallan and Adolin are good for each other and are also adorable. I just thought of Shallan Stormblessed when I was making an account. I had had other ideas, but I couldn't think of any of them, so I just did what came to mind. And I'm not doing Fixer Upper because I'm a Shalladin shipper, but because it just fits perfectly.

Coloured shading simply means coloured pencils for shading - in other words, non graphite pencils. (although I'm not sure if you used normal graphite or not )

Coloured shading is generally considered tricky with coloured pencils, as you have to used a number of different colours in order to achieve detailed shading. Like adding purple to the darker areas to give the impression of shade, and adding a lighter colour to a darker one to create light, ect.

It's a book series by Andrew Peterson, and it's really good. It's fantasy. It's actually not that well known, it seems like. But I know that several people on here are fans.

I can give you one. Or try at least. There's this fantasy world where there are lizard-men and their evil leader who's taken over and everyone's being treated poorly. It centers around three kids: Tink, Janner, and Leeli. There's adventures, sadness and happiness. I strongly recommend the book. The show hasn't been everything I wished, but I have yet to see as it's only three episodes in. The book has some religious stuff it's based off, kinda like Narnia. Even if you aren't religious it's a great read still. Maybe Shallan can add on to my description.
