She dug in, and ate a lot. A lot a lot. Not quite half—maybe more like a third. But it was a lot.

Vance was fine with that. He was getting better at cooking.

Between bites, Kealie asked, “So where are we going exactly?”

“To town. We’re gonna get a wagon to take all the loot to Orteo.”

“Cool. No idea where that is, but cool.” She scooped another serving of soup into her bowl, then resumed eating hungrily.

“We’ll be out for a few days. You okay with that?”

“I’m good with whatever,” she replied. Then, around a bite of soup—“this is really good.”

“Is it? I tried adding a bit of spice this time around.” Vance smiled to himself a little. “Anyways, I was going to leave as soon as you were ready.”

“I’m ready now.” She guzzled the last of it and carefully placed the bowl by the thing. “As ready as I’ll ever be!”

“Then get your stuff together. We’ve got some walking to do.”

“I have all my stuff.” She leaned back on Eej. “He’s gonna be my legs for a while, cuz I’m lazy.”

Vance saddled himself up (backpack, blades, fancy staff - check), then turned around and waved at the others. "Alright, guys! Seeya later: Quest, Antin!"

Antin looked up from his runes. "Wait... where are you going?"

"To town. We'll be gone for a little while. See if you can get any more of the mansion discovered while we're away. Once we're back we can take whatever we find to my place in Orteo."

After a few minutes, Kealie got bored and made Eej set her down. “We’re getting a wagon? Right?”

"Yeah. There's a small town a little ways from here."

“Orteo? Right? Or are we getting the wagon to go to Orteo?”

Vance chuckled. "Orteo is not a small town. This place is called Hackney. I was staying there for a bit before running into you guys. Cute little place; tomato fields, fountain plaza, light festivals now and again... We'll hire a wagon there and bring it back to the mansion, fetch Quest and Antin, then take all our stuff and get to my place."

"It's a house I inherited from my father. Kinda small, edge of town, lots of space around it... cozy sort of place. You'll like it."

Quest had found his sleeping bag and promptly passed out. Within minutes he was snoring. He will continue to sleep for quite a while. You have done this to yourselves.
