Hyron coughed, took another drink, and looked out over the island. They didn't see anything too bad, just some fog and moss. Like any other swamp.

Miyako nodded and turned towards the island. After looking at Hyron and Yerik, she strode forward away from the ship and its crew. Towards adventure, intrigue and danger. To where Miyako most loved to be.

The trio made their way through the swamp, stepping carefully around patches of boggy ground and swatting at flies. They walked in silence. Something about the atmosphere - the thick canopy overhead, the treacherous ground beneath, the inscrutable foliage all around - combined, it somewhat discouraged conversation.

The silence was abruptly broken by a yelp from Yerik, followed by a splash as he fell into the water.

Miyako nerves were strung tight as she walked through the swamp. It was too silent, as if the marsh was holding it's breath; every eye turned towards the newcomers. Only the buzzing of flies broke the thick silence. A incessant buzz that droned on as they trekked through the swamp.

When Yerik yelped and fell Miyako jumped back, her sword flashing out of her sheath. She scanned their surroundings, looking for threats.

"Alright. I don't know if I can keep my hand on the runes all the way through, though." Antin lept up to the area right near the doorway, placing his hand on the first rune he could. However, it took several seconds for him to get his arm on the other two circles present nearby on the wall.

There was a soft sound that may have been a giggle. Yerik sat up, shivering. Was that movement? In the dim light and thick foliage, it was hard to tell. He shivered again, not entirely because of the cold.

Behind Miyako, a branch cracked.

Fire spouted out of the rune circle. The circle had become a sheet of red glass, broken only by a stream of fire. Quest called out, desperate, but there was nothing he could do.

Well the question is, how does Antin's magic function? It is magic so you can certainly dampened it. It is coming at such a speed that maybe you can't prevent all of it. Maybe it sets your clothes on fire and then that non-magical fire burns you.

I don't know the exact rules of Antin's magic so I will let you decide how it will react.

The owner of the voice shuffled out of the brush somewhat sheepishly. He was perhaps eight years old, with light brown hair and blue eyes.

Miyako didn't move from her stance. She knew well that anything could be a threat.

Antin yelled. The fire dulled significantly, as it came into contact with a lot of his body, but it was too much for him to fully quench. He could feel burns forming on his freshly lightened skin as he leapt past the flame and found a rune on the wall that seemed to connect the flame and a few other runes.

"You can rest easy. You nearly got burned to death there!" Quest paused, "Though if you would like to try again, I can heal you for quite a while. I don't mean to be coarse but, umm..." Quest trailed off.
