Whereas the wild or ferrel cats held their own religious beliefs. The increasingly divisive religous beliefs held by the cats was a factor in the further balkanization of clan lands. Ferrel cats valued their independence and hunting prowess, and any domestic cat would be troublesome if they were to join one of the clans.
