Vileviper
I myself don’t know really what they are planning or if they are planning something. Yet in Oathbringer we hear them discussing Renarin and how to influence him. Jasnah sends Ivory to investigate them but I suspect it is to look after Renarin. They act more like shamans then scholars but they are planning something. We heard little of them in Row but have we heard more of there plan. XeGnome
I always thought of this group as a bunch of mathematicians reviewing historical record (farmers almanac) and making “best guess” from that and not a group with any particular “magic”. They do get the storms arrival wrong sometimes. but ... any group with any amount of power will not wish to loose it but only strengthened if they had someone with “fortune” to make their predictions more accurate. Take away the “need” for their existence by a bunch of wind runners with span reeds or just “ask Dalinar” where the storm is and they will act to preserve their jobs. Good point do you think they may be involved in the sons of Horner or what’s left of them.

Some of them? Probably. All of them? Probably not
Bejarden
Yeah that was my impression just trying to do life support for this theory
apepi
I have always assumed that Stormwardens have somehow bonded Windspren to learn when the storms would happen next. Also, there was some stormwardens that were part of Gavilar's expedition.

Does Syl do that?

teknopathetic
It doesn't seem supernatural, but they do seem to have a distinct political or social agenda that is a ticking plot device. I would be surprised if Odium tempted them in some way, but I don't think it is required.
Serack
There is an excellent post from last December that has an interesting derivative theory in it speculating on stormbringer math.
Watchcry
If you could pin Stormwardens to a particular KR order, which would you guys place them in? I'm thinking: Dustbringer, for wanting to keep innocents from great destruction. Truthwatcher, for wanting to find proven methods to predict storms. Lightweaver, because Cryptics love math!
