+Oltux72
At the beginning of White Sand we saw an assembly of Sandmasters. It was male to a statistically improbable degree. Can we assume a somewhat unegalitarian culture or are there arcane reasons? Or is it biology? One interesting tidbit of biology is that men are on average "wetter", that is they have a higher water content.

I think the comics artist just defaulted to male while drawing
Frustration
I'm more inclined to the water answer, my reasoning being, that if water is required, then men and women on the far lowwer side, men would have a Higher chance of displaying talent. Maybe. Or it could be a genetic/Sgenetic feture where it attaches itself more reaily to the y chromasome, or whatever the SDNA equivelent is.

One interesting tidbit of biology is that men are on average "wetter", that is they have a higher water content. It's because of the unegalitarian culture. From the prose version: Quote She knew what it was to fight authority--she was the first female Taisha in the history of Lossand. In fact, she was the first female member of the Hall in the history of Lossand. Very few of the Professions admitted women, and Lossand society was heavily influenced by Kershtian ideals. Heelis, however, had used the Law as her shield--for a neuter pronoun in Formal Kersha had been used in the Law’s writing. Although women are technically not prohibited from joining a Profession, they traditionally pretty much just admit men, and the Diem was probably on the more conservative and traditionalist end of the Professions because they depended on tradition in order to stay powerful. Weltall
Sand Mastery was male-exclusive in the prose version and I doubt that the artists got a deep mechanics dump on how Taldaini Initiation works. More likely the directive was just 'add some females in there'. This is why all the named members of the Diem are male. Now, some things that have been said about the omnibus release make it sound like we might be getting some more information (Isaac mentions adding pages written by Khriss) but how much they might tell us on any given topic depends on whether they're contemporary notes or some sort of later annotations and if so, when she writes them.
