Kel-see-yer for me, maybe because how you write it in Hebrew: קלסייר. My older brother, as I wrote on Sanderson memes, pronounces it Klyser (I don't really know the right way to spell how he reads it.

In my head though, I pronounce the R.

Sanderson what are you talking about? You just said it was Kel-see-ay.

Kel-see-air is how I have always pronounced it but I think that is because that is how it is pronounced in the audio books.

Because as he admits himself in the exact same breath, he doesn't pronounce it the way it 'should' be read. :P

He has in-world pronunciations and he has his own pronunciations. He says the correct way for you to pronounce it is the way you like to pronounce it. Usually he's reluctant to give out the proper in-world pronunciations because of this reason, he doesn't want people to go "Oh, I've been pronouncing it wrong," because his point is everyone pronounces it right.

I read that part and it makes sense. I took a spit take the first time I heard someone say Kelsier.

Ye, I also heard that Vin is supposed to be pronounced with a French accent, making it sound more like "Veh".

Instant WOB man to the rescue:

Spoiler

Brandon Sanderson

I pronounce it 'say-zed' (seizɛd). But I pronounce it like Kelsier does. But Sazed himself says something closer to 'sayz'd' (seizd)

Salt Lake City ComicCon 2017 (Sept. 23, 2017)

And a big one for people is Jasnah is pronounced with a soft J / Y sound. And I used to pronounce Renarin as "Renna-rin".

Jasnah with a Y and Kholin with a Kh. I can’t do the SA audiobooks because they pronounce it with a K. It’s not a K! Is the Kh really that hard to pronounce?!

Kell I pronounce as Kel-see-ay, but that took practice.

Vin is Vah/Veh. Didn’t start out that way, but that’s how I hear her now.

Adolin is Ah-doe-lin.

/kɛlsie:ʀ/

k - open short e - voiceless s - short closed i - long closed e - r (yes I pronounce that)

Probably yes. Anglosaxons do not ask pesky Europeans, Latinos or the rest of the world on that.

Trawling through a lot of WOBs I came to the conclusion that it most likely is

/xo'lin/ with a stress on the second syllable and the o closed

Kel-ser, for the longest time I said it like this or just Kel (because I have a crush on him)

I even asked Brandon during signing "Will Kel-ser appear in Stormlight Archive? Ever?"

Then I bought audiobook to have something to listen to other than my extremely chatty colleague at work and I was mortified when I found out I asked Brandon with incorrect pronunciation.

I say Kell-see-er, though for a long time I bounced between various different pronunciations.  It took awhile to realize that I don't care if I'm saying it wrong cause it sounds right to me.
