Bigmikey357
We find out in RoW that metal is important Cosmere-wide, not just on Scadrial. And the crazy thing is that the more we learn, the more we see that GodMetals are no different, just hyper versions of what we find in the Allomancy chart. We've gotten 4 original GodMetals in the text so far plus Harmonium (ettmetal). Each one maps to an ability granted by either Allomancy or Feruchemy. Atium - Futuresight - HyperElectrum Lerasium - Grants Connection - Harmonium - Manipulates Identity - HyperDuraluminum Tanavastium - Severs Connection- HyperAluminum Raisium - Transfers Investiture- HyperNicrosil Edglium - Stores Memories - HyperCopper Trellium- Hides Investiture - Note that this list is both incomplete and likely wrong as cannonnical uses of these GodMetals likely aren't being put to their full potential. Further complicating matters is that Shardic Intent seems at first glance to be disconnected from what the metal actually does, instead being assigned an ability at random. Further investigation is needed, but since we now know 14 of the 16 Shardic Intents I think we're getting closer to the ultimate unified theory. If anyone else wants to weigh in feel free. You certainly couldn't do any worse.
Stormtide_Leviathan
Lerasium might be hyper-gold. Gold allomancy allows you to see/feel versions of yourself that could have been and clearly works on a spiritual level of some sort, and Lerasium allows you to change your current spirit. Plus, it would make sense thematically if Lerasium and Atium corresponded with paired metals. Also, where'd we find out anything about Edglium?

I think it is an educated guess that Edglium stores memories based on the fact that breath can store memories.
Honorless
What would Cultivation's godmetal be called? Koravelliumum? That doesn't sound right...

Ruin has one of the worst future sights among the shards because the future wouldn’t really change his plans of destruction. Preservation’s godmetal grants connection, the opposite of keeping things the same. Endowment’s godmetal seems geared towards keeping memories for yourself, rather than giving things to others. Odium is all about the void, taking emotions away, but Raysium conducts it instead. Etc. Maybe godmetals perform the opposite of the shard for some reason? Does that have to do with the fact that amethysts, the gemstones associated with metal, create reversers instead of conjoiners?

Like the god that is all about forging bonds and connections has a GodMetal that severs them. Maybe it's because the god essence isn't natural in metal form and so corrupts it's intent. It implies that you get different effects depending on which state you interact with Investiture. That kinda makes sense considering how different normal matter works depending on what state it's in. Although I would expect different states of a particular flavor of Investiture to do similar things regardless of phase state apparently Investiture is different. We need to see all the GodMetals used correctly; we'll probably have to wait awhile.
Karger
I think Hoid was using breath for a particular reason in that scene. He might also just use it because it is easy to acquire. We know that in fact all investiture can store memories because that is what a cognitive shadow is.
