What causes the air to warp? [Discuss]

Anti-Voidlight gemstones warp the air around them, what causes this? Presumably anti-Stormlight and anti-Lifelight gemstones would cause a similar warping effect?

My theory is that this has to do with the destructive interference. Roshar has rhythms of Honor, Cultivation, and Odium, which seem to infuse the entire planet, perhaps even the air? Since the anti-Light is 180 degrees out of phase with "normal" Light, perhaps the light (lowercase L) that anti-Voidlight gives off destructively interferes with Odium's rhythm in the air, leaving just Honor and Cultivation's rhythm. This difference in rhythms for the air around the gemstone causes a visible warping like heat waves.

Something I would like to know is, if anti-Light were taken to another planet with no normal Light or rhythms from Roshar around, would it behave the same as normal Light (since it seems to be the same thing, just 180 degrees out of phase), or would there still be a warping to the air, or would it behave differently in some other way? Would it still cause a warping to the air because it has a different tone than the rest of the planet?

A wave of wrongness washed over her, a warping in the air, the Pattern itself rippling.

A balescream, it was called—a moment when creation itself howled in pain.

I think of it like a droplet of oil in water, Rab and Navani used this analogy a bunch. If you think about the last time you were in a parking lot and saw a puddle oil had dripped into, you get the pretty colors around the edges. I think this is similar, and it would probably? Just appear as a black sphere elsewhere.

So based on other descriptions we have, it would seem that - at least on Roshar - investiture produces both light and rhythms with their own unique spectra. So if you were to invert this property, it would stand to reason that it would cause the investiture to suck in some degree of light, which would cause the light around it to warp and bend toward it.

What's not clear is how invested light is different from standard light, as BS describes it as creating a wholly unique spectrum that doesn't seem to 'mix' with other types of light - be it standard or invested. (At least, not without providing the proper rhythm and intent to help align it with the desired investiture.)

So, if the anti-investiture is pulling in light, why does it also seem to produce light instead of a sort of 'black hole' type effect? Perhaps the anti-investiture only pulls in certain spectra of light, which would leave the other bands to bleed through in the appearance of a visible light while sucking in other bands of light?

Perhaps it just creates a fairly strong pull, like a star, without necessarily having the strength to keep light from escaping. But if that's the case, would a strong enough anti-investiture produce something like a black hole?
