To join this guild, you must foreswear against intentional use of icky grammar. Take the Oath of the Author: Spoiler I will write all the time I'm technically lying, because I'm a huge procrastinator But I have to take this oath to join the guild, so... I will write all the time Or try to, anyways *waves hand* amen? Always recall the three tenets of this guild: Worldbuilding, Magic, and Storywriting. Once you have joined the Guild, you will receive your standard-issue Badge of Admission (can someone design that? I'm terrible at graphic design) and some basic writing devices. You may ascend the ranks by performing deeds and writing stuffs. The ranks (very underdeveloped, currently. Expect all this to change): Spoiler Guild Member: A member of the Guild. Req: Join the Guild Writing Devices: Standard-Issure (Setting and Dialogue) Fantasy Author: Someone who legitimately writes things Req: Submit a fantasy work, either here or in the Creator's Corner (or give us a good reason why you want to keep your works private) Writing Devices: Thematic Dialogue and W.I.S. (Worldbuilding in Setting). Guild Artisan: You're a full member of the Guild, writing for it on a 'regular' basis Req: Submit fantasy works regularly. That last word is to be interpreted loosely. Writing Devices: Foreshadowing, Character Development, Plot Development, and several more that I don't want to list. Published Author: The highest honor of the basic ranks Req: Publish a fantasy novel/story/anything. Writing Devices: Sequels, Prequels, and everything else that everybody hates because they're generally bad. Spoiler If someone could design badges for all those, I'd be all over it. Guild Staff: Work with the Guild to maintain it. Guild High Staff: Lead a group of Guild Staff in a certain area of Guild maintainance. The idea I had was just as a regular gold/silver/copper badge inscribed with the rank. Also, as much as I love Sanderspeak, this is a guild for Fantasy Authors everywhere, not just Sanderfans (though I guess the fact that it's on the Shard means that anyone here is a Sanderfan by default...), which is why I'm going with BOOK SYMBOLS.
