Both are investiture but they do different things so they are different(although probably less dissimilar then investiture from different shards). Also, Welcome to the shard! As far as I understand it, the investiture in a nicrosil mind is non-specialized, so it can be tapped to fuel any form of magic (and I believe that if it is unsealed then anyone can tap it). A pewtermind however is filled with strength investiture and if sealed can only be tapped by the person who filled it for the purpose of becoming stronger.
