If this is not the right board for this sort of question, can this topic please be shifted to it's most appropriate location?

Anyway, my question is if we can make topics for discussion about the existence or lack thereof of nudity and sexuality/identity within not only Brandon's works, but in other peoples works as well.  Brandon Sanderson himself does not shy away from it in his books (Warbreaker), and I think it could lead to fair and interesting discussion provided we are mature about it.  Example, Felurian is a character from Patrick Rothfuss Kingkiller Chronicles series, and is always naked and very sexually active.  EDIT: Just want to make sure I am following the rules correctly and not pissing anyone off.

But which board here would be most appropriate for such a discussion, and also, would such a discussion anger some people?  Despite people reading fantasy, they might not want to see or participate in discussions that involve sexuality and nudity within the genre, much less see the topics even exist in the first place.  I just want to make sure I am not ruffling any feathers whose morals and ideas of a good discussion topic may be different than my own.

If you put "this topic contains sexuality and nudity" in the title then people who find them off putting will know to avoid that topic.  As to which topic.  If it is based on one series put it there if it is based on the cosmere put it there if it is Brandon's views in general put it there.

If you want to talk about the fantasy genre in general then the Entertainment sub-forum is probably the best place to put it. General Discussion would probably work as well.

Thanks much everyone for the information so far, I really appreciate it.  I will  appreciate it even more if some other user does not ever get offended at me for making a topic they do not agree with or some mod does not show up and drop the hammer on me because of some potential "won't someone think of the children" type rule when it comes to adult content.

This is a bit tricky, as there is no designated forum space for "adults-only" topics. There is a channel for this on our Discord server and I assure you there are 18+ fanarts or fanfics from Brandons worlds. We just don't share those here on the forum

If you are talking about Cosmere chat there is no nsfw art policy on that server.

The confusion came from one poster who is a mod saying "yes there is" and another user who is not a mod saying "no there is not"  That's all.  

If there is none, then there is now no more confusion on my part.

I think Mestiv merely spoke a bit imprecisely. There is an 18+ channel, but we don't share NSFW images/fanfics there. It is not a pornography channel.

Mestiv also, separately, is saying that such fan art and fanfic exist, but we do not share them.

Does that make sense?

Thank you Chaos for making this clear and my apologies for being imprecise. I'm afraid you are on your own in your quest to look for such content. At least you know that there is something out there.

@Shai It's a lack thereof in this case. You can search on Archive of Our Own, which is usually the go-to site for fanfiction (aside from FanFiction.com) but there isn't much and are all quite safe for work, mostly shipping Kaladin with Renarin or Adolin. Most of the fanfics are from authors that are also here on the Shard. There aren't many and generally most aren't complete either. Hmm... there's only two fanfics I can remember that were quite good (though again completely SFW): one of an old woman encountering Kelsier in era 2, another where he capital-B Bonds with Adolin (only 2 chapters though. Both should be easy to find on Ao3, just select tag Kelsier.) And the NSFW ones have... incestuous pairings, so... yeah... anyway! Fanart! Both Tumblr and Deviantart are surprisingly lacking in risqué content from these series, though I saw one of Adolin's on Pinterest or Imgur or maybe it was ArtStation, no idea about the artist, looks a bit like BabylonSheep's work but I'm not sure it's them since it's not on their profiles. It's just him standing with an open coat though (he shows some thigh but that's it). How are your writing/drawing chops? Maybe you could create some content? Reddit has its thing with NSFV (Not Safe for Vorinism) safehand jokes and just Reddit being Reddit in general.

I think this is mainly because of the sort of people the cosmere fandom attracts. I have met more asexual people here than I have anywhere else, also Sanderson's works are lacking in such scenes, which is a breath of fresh air from the normal epic fantasy genre.

I've also noticed that the idea gets some disdain. Heck, even with the you_people channel on Discord, people just assume that some kind of weird perverted stuff goes on there. (It, in fact, seems to be mostly full of adults complaining about being adults)

 

And oh, someone did send me a NSFW fanart of Shallan & Vin after seeing this. So, looks like stuff is out there... somewhere.
