Leila found herself smiling when Ku finally decided to join them and she closed her portal with a slight touch of her mind. Let the others find their own way.

"Why don't the rest of you sit down as well?" She suggested and made a gesture towards the room Balhaan had never left. "Including you, Ku." She turned around and walked back to Balhaan, sat down next to her friend. Tut'Kor'Anuumo words have a strange taste to them, despite the logic embedded within. Spy on their enemies. It was logical, and yet, it also lead to a different train of though, that made skin crawl. It was logical and yet, none of them had even considered the possibility that they were being spied upon until this very moment. She ignored Ashley's military planning, instead considered this thought of hers. Spies. She trusted Balhaan and Sangus, Ku and Tut'Kor'Anuumo were a little more difficult, but in the end, she trusted all of them to a certain extent. She was sure that none would be willing to die and she knew that they all would act according to their own rules. And that meant - Leila opened her book and started a new chapter. It meant, that at one point one of them would betray them, simply because it was their nature, or because they saw a larger gain somewhere else.

She leaned back in her chair and once again was glad, that she had decided to meet here.

"What we shouldn't forget with all of our planning." She said quietly, in the silence after Ashley's words. "Is that we still don't know for sure where to attack."

Ashley started to pace back and forth, weighing things in her head. "With help, probably a few months. I could cut it down quite a bit, though I'd need veterans, and any new recruits would need a good amount of military training before we even start training them. Who exactly would I have helping me?"

I turn to look at Leila. "Indeed, this is why we must plan and gather intelligence."

"Ms. Remorares, what do you know of Gilgamesh of Uruk?"

Ashley shrugged, "Not much. I remember reading the epic, but that was some time ago. He was a hero, and a great warrior, from what I recall." Did Balhaan have some connection to the ancient king? And if he did, why bring it up now?

"The epic never quite did justice to the truth. He was a good friend. His bloodline is alive and well. It is a member of this line that I have called to aid us."

A bit of melancholy descends over me and a slight edge enters my voice.

"I see. That should help quite a bit." Ashley nodded, "Especially if they have experience commanding troops. I can if I have to, but having another to help would certainly make things easier."

Ku decided to speak up. "I have a small group of mortals that are highly trained in the art of Vovinam who may be of some help."

"Ms. Remorares, what fee are you demanding for this aid?" She is a mercenary plain and simple. There is always a price to be paid.

"Tell me Ku, how soon can you have them ready to join us?"

Gilgamesh of Uruk. Leila's thoughts moved to this old sumerian epic. While it hadn't captured the truth completely, she still admired the skill and the taste for art of the poet. Of course it had polished some facts here and there, just as it was always done. The victorious ones decided which story would be told in the future. For a moment she considered to call the epic to her, but then decided against. It wouldn't do the old pages well to be moved around and it wasn't as if she couldn't recite it, if neccessary.

She kept quiet and left the military planning to those that had a sense for it, only turned her head towards Ku when he adressed her.

"In my collection of contemporary poetry." She replied smiling fondly at the self-filling shelves around them. "This is obviously the newest part. You can find everything written the last -" her hand made a vague gesture to indicate, that the next number wasn't to be taken literally, "thousand years within these halls." She made a slight shrug with her shoulder. "I had it all in one place, but the more literacy spread within humanity, the more poetry was written and at one point I decided to divide it. It could have fit in here as well, but it just felt better to split it up."

Straightening she leaned forward. "But to answer what you really wanted to know - I doubt that it will help our cause if you tell them to come here, because obviously our enemies aren't. I would suggest that your men and women meet up with those Ashlyn can provide and then we can transfer them all to a different location, should they end up on the wrong continent. But to ask them to come here, wait for hours, maybe even days for them to arrive - " she shook her head. "At one point we need to get them all in one place anyway, or at least set up a meeting between the officers of the different forces we call. It won't help us, if their strategies align. And as much as I like my books, this is the wrong place to gather an army."

"My group is able to get anywhere quickly. That is if the location is on Earth, of course." Ku asks the group, "Does anyone have spies that we can use to get information from the God Complex?"

She will take no payment now . I worry what she might ask for later.

"We should establish safe houses where we will host small groups who will not know the location of the others."

"Ku are you offering us aid in this area?"

Aiwass looked around, wondering where they were. They had travelled here on a whim, guided by their instincts, but they had no clue where they had actually ended up. Smiling slightly they formed a body around themselves. Long white hair flowed down, light seeming to refract in it, while their clothing was formed by a simple white gown which somehow evoked the image of a human sacrifice from times long past. They held their hand in front of them, and light shimmered as the air turned reflective. Contemplating for a bit they altered their face slightly, going for a female body this time.

She paced around a bit, looking at her surroundings, small hints of static showing on her body a few times. "I guess I should find out what's here?" She muttered. She moved her hand through the air, cards having appeared in them at some point, the cards being hung in the air as her hand moved. On the cards symbols were visible: Magus, Hierophant, Hermit, Star. She snapped her fingers, and the cards shattered, the pieces whirling around, reforming into a map of the area, with one particular point being highlighted. "Hmm, I guess that could be interesting?" She muttered. "It isn't often that so many gods gather." Smiling she started walking in the indicated direction, ignoring the static running through her body.

Eventually she stopped in front of a door, feeling a number of beings inside. With a bright smile she knocked on the door. "Hello there!" She called out. "Is anybody home?"

As an aside, most gods probably wouldn't know Aiwass, since they don't interact that much with other gods, especially the older ones. Some of them might know them though. Gods with magic as their attribute could know of them, because of their connection to Hermetic Magic, and Leila might know of them as well, since their existence has been discussed in a number of less well known books, especially those regarding 20th century occultists.

"My group has been trained thier whole life to fight together. Splitting them up will only hurt us."

"As for the spies, I of course can help, but it will take time to get to a point where they can be of help. Time that we may not have."

I cannot ignore Ku's sometimes acute wisdom. Sometimes though he misses the greater plan at work.

"Ku for the purposes of training and preparation for what lies ahead. In time they will be brought together again, but only at the right time. At this point you are right we don't have time, but a victory or two might create the opportunity we will need for your spies to be effective."

"Hiding small groups together will be a good idea." Sangus said, "As for safehouse locations, I believe my followers can help us in that area. In fact, I believe we can use my followers to recruit soldiers, as well as shelter them."

Ashley nodded, "Spreading our troops out will also help us strategically, since we could strike all over the world without having to move troops around. It's a good plan, though I'd expect nothing less from Baalhan himself."

"There are six mortals in my group. I am able to send one each to a safehouse and help to train troops." Ku thinks for a second. "Also we need recruits who have fought before, or else it will take too long to train them. I do like the idea of fighting, then inserting spies during the chaos. If there are a few people that we can capture or kill, then my spies would be able to take their places and be able to get information much more quickly instead of starting at the bottom.

"Of course, I can make sure that their disguises are perfect, but they would need to be supplied with all possible information about the replaced person so as to not be compromised."

This us coming together nicely. Caution must of course be observed, but we have the beginnings of something workable. Though this mercenary will have to be watched she was recently involved in a slaughter that she has yet to mention. Odd indeed. "Sangus, how quickly do you think that you can have your followers discreetly begin recruitment?"

"Ku once we have begun to fight I would ask with the consent of my fellow gods that you take the role of spymaster. Are we agreed?"

"Ms. Remorares, something has occurred to me. Should you be amenable I have a task which would benefit from your skills. It is of a rather urgent nature as it will aid our fight. Should you be willing I will provide with the details and help you on your way immediately."

"Sure. What is it you need me to do?" Ashley was glad for an opportunity to do go do something. It would give her some time to think, and to really consider what was happening here. It was something monumental, she was sure, something that would likely change the the very roots of humanity once again. War was a great bringer of change.

Leila perked up at the knock and stood, leaving the others, still discussing military strategy behind. "I'll be back. Before you leave - I need a word with you in private." She murmured in Balhaan's direction and then headed over towards her door. War. There would be war and it would be long and awful and terrible. But for now - she turned her thoughts towards the door, and the visitor waiting outside and frowned when she felt for them. There was power, strong and definitely not belonging to a human. And yet, contrasting the others she had trouble placing it for a moment, and she paused, closed her eyes and let her power flow through her and her libraries for a moment, searched for a ressonance.

She extended a hand and a book fell into it, while understanding dug out the thoughts that been burried. Aiwass. Rarely mentioned, mostly refered to by an english occultist. A mystery and a god she'd never met before. She gently brushed her fingers over the cover of the book and then opened the door.

"Yes, I am home." she said while drawing her powers around her again, unsure whether Aiwass knew what was going on, whether she, or maybe he, for she had the appearance of a female, was here to help, or maybe even to destroy. Her knowledge of Aiwass attributes was vague and she suspected that a lot of Crowley's reports were unreliable. "I am Leila." She introduced herself, without stepping out of the doorway or inviting Aiwass to come inside. "I would be glad, if you could tell me, why you are here?"

Aiwass smiled, looking at her. "Leila," she muttered. "Goddess of literature, history and tales." Her smile broadened, and she gave a small curtsey. "Aiwass," she said, introducing herself, "Though you might already know that. Still, nice to meet you."
She paused for a bit. "As for why I'm here..." She tilted her head slightly, thinking of how to explain it. "Well, I'm not entirely sure myself. One of my abilities sometimes guides me to certain locations or people that could interest me. When I arrived here I noticed a large gathering of gods, so I decided to check it out."

I rise from  the armchair and turn to face the assembly of gods. Follow me Ms. Remorares, I'll brief you as I escort you."

I make my way to the doorway, stop, and wait with my back turned to the room.
