Hello, and welcome to...The God Complex. In this Free Form RP, we are the gods of earth. We can be mortals become gods, formed from the magic of the world, or anything else you come up with. We will mess with modern earth, creating problems, and interact with the God Complex- a world spanning organization trying to harness the power of the gods to their own ends.

When you create your god, pick three domains. Your primary domain, and two lesser domains. Once you have picked your primary domain, no other god can have that domain as their primary without your permission. For your primary domain, you have control over that area, to the point where if all of Steelhearts power was compacted into this one domain, it would be about that. For your lesser domains, you have influence on them equal to one of Steelhearts abilities.

When you take a overarching domain such as death, you must choose something specific inside of it, such as the act of killing people, or collecting souls.

We are not completely immortal. When you create your god, there is always one thing that can hurt you. This can be as simple as mistletoe, to as complex as fifteen incredibly short people with flamethrowers powered by gasoline from 1999, a slong as it is possible to be done in RP.

The more specific your domain is, the more power you have over it.

You can have a mortal character, but with the massive power disparity, I would advise against it.

There really isn't a character profile template, and the God Complex is so wild and convoluted, that you can do whatever you want with it.

Only two characters for now, maybe more later.

A god can morph in between specific shapes if stated in their sheet without a domain that grants that, but without one they must stay in their specific original forms. They may all change back and forth from human size to up to 200 feet tall at will.

Have Fun

@Blessing of Potency Chao

Spoiler

Name: Chao

Domains: Primary: Chaos

Alignment: Chaotic

Goals: cause as much chaos as possible.

Appearance: The only constant in her appearance is the fact that she’s female. She’s appeared as everything from a cat to a person.

Manifestation of Power: Warm strong wind, it likes to tip things over.

Weakness: Order. She stays away from banks

Origin: the natural chaos of the human mind and the untamed wilds.

@Dr. Dapper Sangus, Luna

Spoiler

Name: Sangus

Domains: Primary: Wisdom, specifically wisdom gained through experience. Manifests with Sangus having incredible wisdom and insight. Secondaries: Forethought, manifesting in something similar to prophecy, though it really only affects him and his companions. Clarity of thought, which manifests as Sangus understanding most knowledge he is presented with almost immediately.

Appearance: Can change his form at will, but prefers to take the form of a young human child or an aged man, though he will take other forms if need be.

Personality: Sangus has a lot of wisdom, and he shares it with others when he can. For those who know him, it can be really annoying. He’s friendly to everyone, even those who hate him, and indeed this is why some hate him. Sangus has many friends among the gods, and among mortals, though their short lives make it hard to form real bonds.

Goal/motivations: His main motivation is wisdom: he wants to make sure that the things he knows are spread among all people.

Weakness: Sangus can only be harmed or slain by someone who has bested his daughter in combat, either killing her or incapacitating her so she can’t fight back.

Origin: Sangus simply appeared one day, and even with his wisdom, he cannot fathom how. It’s probably the only thing he’s never been able to figure out.

Name: Luna

Domains: Primary: Guardianship/protection. This manifests in Luna being basically undefeatable when fighting to protect another person, being able to come back from near-death to save her charge. Secondary: Transformation. Luna can change the shape of any material with only her hands. Trust, manifesting as the ability to perfectly tell when any mortal is telling the truth, and it gives her a pretty good idea of when a god is lying too.

Appearance: Takes the appearance of a woman in her early 30s, with dark hair and an almost haunted expression.

Personality: Luna isn’t the most charismatic person, preferring to leave the talking to her father. She’s driven, and always focused on whatever goal she’s been put to. She couldn’t care less about normal mortals, though she does have a few devine friends.

Goal/motivation: To protect her father, Sangus, from those who would wish to do him harm.

Weakness: Luna can only be killed by a member of her family, either a biological relative or someone whom she sees as family.

Origin: Luna was a mortal girl who Sangus adopted at some point, and she took up the mantle as his protector. Eventually, their close bond managed to elevate her to divinity in her own right.

@bees? Caebdar, Tut'Kor'Anuumo

Spoiler

Name: Kaëbdaar, or Caebdar in the modern age.

Domains

Primary:

Reality (Space)

Caebdar can bend space to his will, creating temporary wormholes.

Caebdar is able to bend the energies of the universe into bursts of destructive energy.

Alignment: Lawful Good

Goals: Ensure the survival and growth of the universe.

Appearance: Caebdar, when he is not in the form of a vague white mist, takes the form of a man in his prime, with charcoal-black skin and glowing white hair, with glowing purple tattoos covering much of his body. He wears white clothing that seems to glow much like his hair and always seem to hang at sharp angles.

Manifestation of Power: The colors of the world around him are all inverted, and when he uses magic or wormholes, the aftermath leaves an area of inverted colors, the time said area stays that way depending upon how much energy was put forth.

Weakness: Being exposed to a natural wormhole. If this happens, Caebdar loses his spatial powers, and becomes mortal. He would in theory, appear to be a normal human from that time forward.

Origin: When the universe was created, Kaëbdaar was born. Throughout many years, he stayed in an embryonic state, until the first wormhole of the universe opened, birthing him out into the world.

Name: Tut'Kor'Anuumo

Domains

Primary: Creation

Tut'Kor'Anuumo is the physical representation of negentropy. As such, he is viewed as good, even though that is not necessarily true.

Secondaries:

Time

Tut'Kor'Anuumo can view the future and the past of any object or place simply by looking at it.

Physical Laws

Tut'Kor'Anuumo can fully understands all laws governing the universe, and as such, knows perfectly how to exploit them.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.

Goal: Ensure the rebirth of the universe.

Appearance: Tut'Kor'Anuumo, when not in the form of an ethereal giant with elk-like horns, takes the form of young man, with bone-white skin and black hair that seems to absorb light, with glowing blue tattoos covering much of his body. He wears flowing robes that seem to show swaths of space and always move.

Manifestation of Power: The colors of the world around him are all , and when he uses any of his powers, the aftermath leaves an area of inverted colors, the time said area stays that way depending upon how much energy was put forth.

Weakness: Being exposed to strange matter. If this happens, Tut'Kor'Anuumo loses his powers, and becomes mortal. He would in theory, appear to be a normal human from that time forward.

Origin: When the universe was reformed, Tut'Kor'Anuumo was formed from the ideas of the new universe, a god of creation and discovery, sent to regulate the new universe with his eternal companion, Kaëbdaar.

@Ookla the Maybe-Existent John Lou

Spoiler

Name: John Lou

Domains: Primary: Love

Appearance: Black hair and light brown eyes. Oval face. Middle aged human man, slightly shorter than average. Wears average human clothing and is slightly portly. Commonly looks bored or disheartened.

Manifestation of Power: His power to influence love in mortals is mostly invisible, but can be seen in a slight pinkish mist around his hands as he uses his powers.

Origin: When the previous God of Love was killed, the power summoned him into existence, and he begun his work.

Personality/Goal: After so long of spreading love and creating happy lives, the only thing he wants is love himself. All he wants is to have a happy life with someone who loves him without him influencing them, which he knows is impossible. This leaves him disheartened.

Weaknesses: Can only be killed while he is happy.

@Sorana Leila

Spoiler

Name: Leila

Domains: Primary: Literature Secondary: History and Tales

Origin: Leila started to exist when people started to write, although she has no way to actually pinpoint the exact moment

Personality/Goal: Extremely curious, she is writing the chronic of the the world and therefore tries to be a part of everything to be able to write it down

Weaknesses: Loses her powers at the distraction of objects containing writing

@kenod Hayate Mizuki

Spoiler

Name: Hayate Mizuki

Domains: Primary: Moon. Secondaries: Night, Mind.

Age: 16 (Physical age looks around 15, and is stuck that way because of immortality)

Gender: Female

Appearance: Asian, 5'1'' tall, with long hair. Looks somewhat fragile. Her hair and eye colour changes in correspondence to the phase of the moon, moving between black and silver. Wears a dark blue kimono with silver moon patterns. The patterns often appear as if they're moving and look as if they aren't actually made of cloth.

Manifestation of power: Being near her creates an odd sense of calm and detachment. During the day the sun seems less bright in areas close to her, while at night moonlight becomes more visible. When actually using her abilities this effect is enhanced, and a silver aura appears around her. If it's night any clouds above her will disappear when she's using her abilities, letting the moon shine through. When it's a full moon the moon will look much larger than it should be.

Weakness: Her power is linked to the moon, and waxes and wanes in accordance to it, and the more powerful of her abilities can only be used when a minimum amount of the moon is visible. During a lunar eclipse her powers diminish even more, with a total lunar eclipse  leaving her powerless and mortal for its duration.
She has little experience with her abilities, and has trouble accessing the more complex ones.

Abilities:

  • Moon: She can weave moonlight into various forms, both physical objects and illusions, as well as creating threads of light she can use for various purposes. For combat she generally creates weapons out of moonlight, generally a bow, which allow her to fire focussed blasts of light. Weaving moonlight around herself allows her to increase her own strength as well. This light feels cold to the touch, and doesn't actually have any warmth to it.
When her power has enough strength she can also send out pulses of gravity, as well as initiating two events called Lunar Rain and Moonfall. When at full power she can temporarily manifest the moon even during the day, temporarily turning everything to night instead (this doesn't actually change time, just changes everything to night in the affected area. Areas outside of this don't have anything altered.)
    • Lunar Rain: A large number of drops of silver light rain from the skies, causing an effect similar to a meteor shower. Actual destructive power is dependent on her current power, though even during a full moon it generally isn't too difficult to escape, since the drops tend to be spaced apart quite a bit, and can't really be aimed that much. These tend to have about the same level of power as her arrows. The moon needs to be at least a half-moon for this ability to be useable.
    • Moonfall: The moon appears to drop out of the sky, slowly falling down and crushing everything in a certain area. While devastating, its range and destruction is still limited, as it's not the actual moon.
The range of the impact itself is about a city block in size, though the force behind the impact and the gravity of the moon will cause destruction in a much larger area, though at these distances the damage quickly lessens, being more in the range of broken windows and cracks in concrete.
Furthermore, it takes time for the moon to fully fall, allowing people to stop or destroy it. She requires a full moon to be able to do this.
  • Night: She can wrap shadows around herself, making it difficult to notice her, especially at night. When the moon is smaller than a half-moon she can't use this during the day. When the moon is full enough she can also hide other people.
  • Mind: She can make people fall asleep, or cause a temporary calm to come over them. During a half-moon or greater she can also influence memories, erasing traumatic memories or making people remember things they had forgotten. During a full moon she can temporarily make susceptible people go insane.

Origin: She only got her abilities less than a year ago, and still doesn't actually know where they came from or why she got them. Because of this she also doesn't know much about the God-Complex, or other divinities.

Personality: Somewhat timid, enjoys art, as well as archery. Seems somewhat detached from the world at large, especially during the day.

Goal: Trying to find out what has happened to her, and why.

@Kidpen DANK

Spoiler

Name: DANK (must be in all caps)

Appearance:

Image result for yugi

Domains:
Primary: Memes
Secondary: Cliches, Anime.

Powers: He has a deck of cards that is ever changing. Each card has a different meme (usually a template or something. He would draw a specific meme with a caption, he'd draw something like 'tHe sPoNgEbOb MeMe or 'dabbing' or 'harambe') on it, which allows him to do some specific power related to it. Harambe might let him turn into a huge gorilla, dabbing might let him stab his haters by dabbing on them, or whatever.
However, each of these memes have a second factor: Power. The power of a meme is a function of dankness, hilarity, rate of production, and age, the first three add to power while age removes power. Harambe was moderately dank, not very funny, the rate of harambe related memes is pretty slow right now, and it's pretty old. It's power is low. This means that in practice a Harambe card would probably allow DANK only to grow some extra hair.
His cliche power is that his chances in terms of a getting a good or bad card rise and fall based on how cliche each result would be. His anime power means that he is super anime.
I'll put together a little program to take all of this into account and spit out a card whenever I need it.

Weakness: He can only be hurt by a meme. For example, the kid from the 'so you're telling me' or the kid from 90 other memes. If he traveled back in time and ran into Harambe, that would also work.

Origin: DANK was a huge loser who basically spent all day for a year looking at memes. He took in so much DANK energy that he became a god of memes.

Goals: Become a meme himself. That would make him super OP. Unfortunately it turns out artificially creating memes, even with meme super powers, is super hard.

@ZincAboutIt Caeli

Spoiler

Name: Caeli

Domains: Primary: Air  Secondary: Sound, Laughter. She can call the wind to her, in addition to taking the air from a mortal's lungs should she wish it (or putting it back). She can travel on a breeze, or as a breeze itself. Her command over sound is less distinct, she can dampen or increase sound but only in a general local area. She has the ability to emit a very high whistle that can injure or rupture the eardrum or crack glass, but this ability only works within about one block, and that's if she stills the wind around her so that sound travels farther. Caeli can spur mortals to laughter and is attracted to laughter, both derisive, mocking laughter and good-natured laughter.

Appearance: Appears as a youngish (late teens/early 20s) woman with very light, long silvery-blonde hair that seems constantly moving in an unseen wind. Her skin is somewhat translucent, even when she chooses to be seen - and she can become unseen at will, dissolving into a semi-visible breeze. She has a somewhat impish heart-shaped face, is slender and of average height. Her eyes are shifting orbs of blue and green, slightly tilted, with no pupil. She has very white teeth, and her smile is both inviting and unsettling. Wears a light camisole-type dress that blends into her skin, and falls to mid-calf. It almost seems a part of her, not true clothing.

 Caeli-csimg.jpg.6652c77dee77a8f7be418beb9b6d80f9.jpg

Manifestation of Power: A cold breeze and the sound of distant echoing laughter. It is unclear if the laughter is happy or cruel. Sometimes a high whistle is also present.

Origin: Caeli has been many things - male, female, neither. She was born when creation gave breath to the planet, and air became, dancing, swirling, travelling.

Personality/Goal: Caeli is a capricious god, neither good nor evil - though she can act in either way by turns. She is easily bored and always looking for something new. Her temper is quickly roused, and just as quickly dispersed. She can be cold as a winter gale, or sweet as summer's lightest breeze. Her goal is to move through the world as air moves, seeing all, hearing all, never a dull moment. She has a somewhat "Fae" morality - that is, one that cannot be grasped by mortals as either good or evil. She is as she is.

Weaknesses: Can be killed if locked in an airless space/ a vacuum.

@Ark1002 Sunshine

Spoiler

Name: Sunshine

Primary Domain: Flowers

Appearance:

monstrous form

Secondary Domains: War; as in the act of actual battle, disease; as in death bringing plagues

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Goals: Reduce the entire world to either opium addicts too stupid to do anything, his cultists, or corpses.

Manifestation of Power: The flowers manifest as... flowers. He can grow them from near nothing, create new species, control their shape, etc. When he brings about bloodshed, all of the flowers on his body turn violet, and his eyes grow bright red (if he has them). When he manipulates or creates diseases, the flowers all wither, looking frail and sickly, and his eyes become pure black (if he has them). In monstrous form, when he makes flowers, they get added to his body as well, and he grows bigger. In addition, the disease leaves only some flowers sickly, and leads to throny branches growing on the body. The bloodshed leads to redvines skull like patterns of red flowers and dark green vines growing. Over time, his monstrous form gets bigger and bigger as different layers are added, and skeletons are incorporated.

Forms: Human form. His original body, more or less, though the flower costume has now become part of his body, and living. Main form. The form he spends most of his time in, and appears to his worshippers in. Monstrous form. Battle, intimidation, and also, his truest form. If he is in pain, he reverts to this. It is his instinctive form.

Weakness: Can be killed only by five year olds who love snakes to an unhealthy degree.

Origin: As a child, Sunshine was an odd boy. Picked on by others for his love of flowers, deemed "girly". But despite this, he continued to dress up in various flower costumes, and do weird dances in the front yard. As he grew older, this obsession grew stranger and stranger, and he stopped being picked on, instead feared. Anyone he saw who picked a flower, he attacked. Anyone who angered him at all, he attacked. As an adult, people would watch as he sat in his parents lawn for hours, doing flower dances. Strange people began to think that Sunshine was doing holy rituals, and learned to join him, also wearing flower suits. This following grew larger and larger, and the city watch kept clearing out the people sleeping there. But he continued, day after day. One day, he became deathly ill, and took to the hospital. They thought there was nothing they could do for him. They had never seen this disease. So they sent him home to die in peace. His followers surrounded him in his last moments, promising to continue worshipping the flowers as he died. But instead of dying, Sunshine was transformed. A massive evil flower, and he ate on that spot all of his most devoted cultists, and his parents. With his appetite sated, he learnt to control it, learnt to change to his other two forms. To mask his insanity. And to create opium. He used this to spread, becoming a drug lord of sorts. He was the god of flowers, bloodshed, and plague, and he became a force to be reckoned with.

Also, he was scared of snakes and little children.

Name: Kaëbdaar, or Caebdar in the modern age.

Domains

Primary:

Reality (Space)

Caebdar can bend space to his will, creating temporary wormholes.

Secondary:

Magic

Spoiler

He also takes souls of the innocent,  to the Meditation Realm, his own personal afterlife, where they can live on in their life forever more. Two of them, father and daughter.

Spoiler

Alright, thanks for joining!

I personally vote for Seattle because I like the pacific northnorthwest, but didn't think Portland could win, but it's at one vote as well so... I change my vote to Portland. I'm gonna leave the poll open for a day more, then if there's still a tie, take all that are tied and put them in their own poll.

Making a new god. Also, I edited the template for my first god to take out all of the extra stuff, so if it's not a pain, please edit the master list of characters.

Weakness: Take the staff away and he is just a regular guy, albeit one who is quite literally a god at lying.

Origin: Probably a Fae

Character ^_^

Alright, I'll add in the new characters and Tokyo won the poll. And also, how should we start RP? I imagine it will be easy to keep going, but the very beginning is the difficulty.

Also, Sorana, weakness is like an epic weakness. One random thing that can kill you.

Is there still time for me to join in as well?

Character:

If her primary ability is too strong please tell me. I'll tone it down in that case.
