i dont know why but this quote has always been my favorite. plus it lets us see a little into Devotions Intent

"You look at things as a human, young master. You see rank and distinction; you try to order the world so that everything has a place either above you or beneath you.

To a seon, there is no above or beneath. There are only those we love. And we serve those we love."

Devotion seems like a close opposite of Odium, much more so than Honor

Are Odium and Devotion opposites?

Brandon Sanderson

One could make that argument.

Out of all the Shards, why does Odium go for Devotion and Dominion?

Brandon Sanderson

He targets people with two kinds of ideas. Number one, he can argue they're breaking the rules they set out. And two, people he thinks are a good match for him, or a challenge, or a danger.

Screw the Dor. I want Devotion:lol:

I wonder how Devotion interpreted her Intent.

Was she devoted to her partner Dominion or maybe humans, life itself?

Probably not Dominion. Devotion and Dominion seem like opposites to me.

I think she would have expected devotion from humans

Any religion based on dominion would have been very strict, about loyalty about full commitment to the religious teaching.

I don't think she would've expected Devotion from humans, but that they should be devoted to something in general, and if that happened to be a religion about her, then all the better
