Posted January 6, 2020 Hey everyone. Please move this topic to the relevant subcategory, can't really make up my mind where it belongs. I'm trying to get a ltattoo based on the Mistborn stories but all the tattoo artists I checked with haven't read the books yet. So I'd like to check if I find anyone here with drawing skills who'd be willing to help me with the design that I can then get to the tattoo shop. Posted January 6, 2020 (edited) Spike with the word Ruin wrapped around it. The spike has the symbol of Atium. (3) Metal vial with the word Preservation. This has the Lerasium symbol. (1) Bracer with the word Harmony. This one gets the Harmonium symbol. (2) The three are at an angle: 1 2 3 Alongside and beneath is a spear. A medallion is wrapped around the center. The word Survive spirals around it, with marewill flowers sprouting from the words. The medallion is marked with the Malatium symbol. The Spear is pointed upward. Above is an obsidian dagger, crossed with a quill pen (or scroll). These should be marked with a metal pair: either iron and steel or tin and pewter. (The first because of how it represents allomancy in some ways. The other because Elend and Vin help each other gain new perspectives (Tin) and give each other strength (Pewter.)) The dagger would get either Steel or Pewter and the quill would get either Iron or Tin. Dagger and quill point downward. All five images are situated against a background of the Cosmere symbol. The symbol exudes mist that fades outward. (Darker near the center; fainter near the outside. I cant actually draw this for you; I don’t know enough about tattoo drawings. But a good tattoo artist could probably use the concept to create something, even if they haven’t read the books. Other notes: Metal symbols should be in metallic silver ink. (Is that a thing?) Alternatively, Atium could be a metallic red, Lerasium Silver and Harmonium metallic blue. The spear should be silver tipped too. Obsidian is glossy black. Marewill flowers are blue. Mist would probably be a mix of silver-gray tones. I see the Cosmere symbol as an indigo, but that would probably be too dark. Maybe a lighter shade of indigo? Either way, I think this would imply a large part of the Era 1 story, with some hints of the future of the series. I actually wrote such a long post to a few tattoo artists and gave them tons of pics from the web so they have an idea about the cncepts, but none of them has gotten back to me with a drawing yet. So yeah, I have the ideas in words, i just need someone who would commit to make a drawing out of them. Preferably someone who has been through the books to be able to add their personal touch when my idea is not finalized...but just an idea. Also, somewhere in the image, a Terrisman watching everything in an 'allknowing' way. And a kendra doing something...a bit undecided what. My problem is that I can rarely visualise something if I'm being told about it. But I might as well, after I see your sketch, decide to drop the whole story and only keep the symbols and make something out of it. My religion doesn’t allow tattooing, but I’d be thrilled if someone used one of my drawings as a base for one! Brandon has shown tremendous respect for other people’s beliefs and choices, even when he disagrees with them. Posted January 11 You should probably do a personal commission from a good tattoo artist with great style. There are lots of trashy craftsmen who only copy other artists' works or just copy designs from Pinterest.
